Positioning and Expected Price
Currently, the Q8 range in India includes the standard model and the RS Q8. The upcoming SQ8 will serve as a mid-tier performance option, aimed at buyers seeking stronger performance without stepping up to the full RS variant.
Based on the pricing of the existing models, the Audi SQ8 is expected to be priced around Rs 1.9 crore (ex-showroom). For reference, the standard Q8 is priced at approximately Rs 1.13 crore, while the RS Q8 is positioned at Rs 2.34 crore.
Audi SQ8 India Launch: Engine and Performance

The SQ8 will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. While it shares its architecture with the RS Q8, the engine is detuned to produce 507 hp and 770 Nm of torque.
Power will be delivered through an 8-speed automatic transmission with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system. The SUV is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds, placing it among the quickest offerings in the luxury performance SUV segment.
Audi SQ8 India Launch: Exterior Changes
The SQ8 will feature subtle design differences to distinguish it from other Q8 variants. Key highlights include a silver surround for the large front grille, along with silver accents on the grille inserts, bumper air inlets, ORVM housings, side trim, and rear bumper elements.
Internationally, the model is offered with 21-inch alloy wheels as standard, with larger 22-inch wheels available as an option. The overall body shape and silhouette remain similar to the standard Q8.
Interior and Features

Inside, the SQ8 gets an all-black cabin with a combination of leather and Alcantara upholstery. Sporty details include ‘S’ badging on the seats and steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, aluminium door-sill inlays, and a driver-focused layout.
The SUV will continue to offer Audi’s dual-screen MMI infotainment system along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster featuring S-specific graphics. Expected features include multi-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, Bang & Olufsen sound system, and powered seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The final equipment list for India will be confirmed at launch.
What This Means for Buyers
The introduction of the SQ8 will give Indian buyers an additional performance-focused option within the Q8 range. It is likely to appeal to customers looking for V8 performance and quattro capability while positioned below the flagship RS model in both performance and price.
Audi India will reveal the full specifications, features, and official pricing of the SQ8 at the time of its launch on March 17.
Note: Expected price and specifications are based on preliminary information and may change at the time of official launch. Final details will be confirmed by Audi India on March 17.
