The new SUV is particularly important for JSW MG because it will be the first model from the brand to use the ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform. MG has also confirmed that the Hector Tomahawk will offer seating for up to seven people.

Interestingly, the electric version will arrive first, while a plug-in hybrid version is expected to join the range later.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV: First Look at the Production Design

MG Hector Tomahawk EV leaked front view ahead of August 26 launch

The undisguised test vehicle gives away several details about the final design of the Hector Tomahawk.

The front gets a modern lighting setup with dual LED DRLs and LED headlamps, connected visually by a black trim element. The MG badge is positioned in the centre, while two slim silver strips add some contrast.

There is no traditional grille because this is an electric SUV. Instead, the front gets a closed-off section along with a rectangular lower air intake. The bumper also features vertical air-channel elements on both sides.

The bonnet has subtle creases, while the test car’s olive green body colour, black roof and roof rails give it a slightly rugged appearance.

Side Profile Gets a Clean, Upright Look

The side profile of the Hector Tomahawk looks fairly clean, with chrome-finished door handles and a chrome window surround.

The window line rises towards the rear, while black cladding runs around the squared wheel arches and along the lower portion of the doors. The test car was also seen with large dual-tone alloy wheels.

MG has not yet shown the complete rear design in these latest spy shots. However, the production SUV is expected to feature wraparound tail-lamps and a dual-tone bumper.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV Cabin Could Be Feature Loaded

MG Hector Tomahawk EV seven-seat cabin layout shown in official teaser

MG has already teased part of the Hector Tomahawk’s cabin, revealing a beige-themed interior. The complete dashboard has not been shown yet, but the layout is expected to follow a minimalist approach.

The SUV is based on the Wuling Eksion, sold in Indonesia, and some elements of its cabin could be carried over. These include a digital driver display, touchscreen infotainment system, two-spoke steering wheel and a centre console with storage areas.

Among the features expected on the Hector Tomahawk are powered and ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, a powered tailgate and a 50W wireless charging system.

The SUV could also get automatic climate control with dedicated vents for the second and third rows, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, six airbags and an ADAS package.

A 12.8-inch infotainment display and 8.8-inch digital driver’s display are also expected.

The final equipment list, however, will be confirmed by MG at the time of launch.

69.2kWh Battery Could Offer Up to 530km Range

MG hasn’t revealed the final India-spec battery and motor specifications yet.

However, the Wuling Eksion, which forms the basis of the Hector Tomahawk, uses a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack. Its claimed CLTC range stands at up to 530km.

The international-spec model uses a front-mounted electric motor developing 201hp and 310Nm. It has a claimed top speed of 160kph.

It is not yet confirmed whether the India-spec Hector Tomahawk EV will receive exactly the same battery and motor specifications. More details are expected at the August 26 launch.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV Expected Dimensions & 7-Seat Layout

The Hector Tomahawk is expected to retain dimensions similar to the Wuling Eksion. If that remains the case, the SUV could measure around 4.7 metres in length and offer a wheelbase of 2,810mm.

DimensionExpected Figure
Length4,745mm
Width1,850mm
Height1,755mm
Wheelbase2,810mm

The three-row configuration will be one of the biggest selling points of the Hector Tomahawk, especially for buyers looking for a family-friendly electric SUV.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV Expected Price

The upcoming electric SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

If MG manages to keep the pricing within this range, the Hector Tomahawk EV could target buyers considering larger electric SUVs such as the Mahindra XEV 9S and Kia Carens Clavis EV.

Its positioning above the Hector will also give MG a product in a segment where buyers are increasingly looking for spacious EVs with three-row practicality.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV Launch Date

The MG Hector Tomahawk EV launch is scheduled for August 26, 2026. The upcoming event should reveal the India-spec battery capacity, motor output, claimed range, charging details, variant lineup and final pricing.

The company is also expected to provide more information about the SUV’s ADAPT platform and its technology package.

Auto India Daily Verdict

The MG Hector Tomahawk EV could be one of the more interesting upcoming seven-seat electric SUVs if MG gets the fundamentals right. The combination of a spacious cabin, expected 69.2kWh battery, premium features and an estimated starting price of around Rs 18 lakh could give it a strong position in the family EV market.

But the real test will come down to the India-spec range, charging speed and final price. With the official launch just around the corner on August 26, MG is expected to answer these questions soon.

Expected specifications, pricing and features mentioned above are subject to official confirmation by JSW MG.
