Mahindra has confirmed that its next all-electric model will arrive in 2027, and it will be the production version of the Mahindra BE.07 Electric SUV concept first showcased in August 2022. The announcement was made during the company’s recent quarterly earnings call, where the SUV was referred to internally as the BO7.
The revised timeline means the model will arrive later than the earlier target of October 2026.

Larger SUV To Sit Above BE 6
The upcoming Mahindra BE.07 Electric SUV will be positioned as the second model in Mahindra’s BE (Born Electric) lineup and will sit above the BE 6 in the range.
Based on the concept, the production model is expected to be a 5-seater SUV measuring around 4.6 metres in length, placing it in the midsize-to-large SUV category. It will be positioned to compete with upcoming models such as the Tata Harrier EV and the VinFast VF7.
Although the final production name may differ, the vehicle will represent Mahindra’s fourth dedicated electric product after the XEV 9e, BE 6 and XEV 9S.
INGLO Platform And Battery Options Expected

The Mahindra BE.07 Electric SUV -based model will use Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard architecture, which already underpins the brand’s current born-electric vehicles.
Battery options are expected to range between 60kWh and 80kWh, similar to other models built on the platform. While official range figures have not been disclosed, the larger battery options indicate a focus on long-distance usability.
In terms of design, the production SUV is likely to carry forward Mahindra’s new EV styling language, including sharp lighting signatures. However, the final design is expected to be more conventional than the futuristic appearance of the BE 6 and XEV 9e.
Mahindra BE.07 Electric SUV Tech-Focused Cabin Likely
The interior is expected to follow the brand’s recent EV direction with a triple-screen dashboard layout and a strong focus on digital features. Industry expectations suggest Mahindra may also incorporate more physical controls in response to user feedback on touchscreen-heavy cabins.

This approach reflects the brand’s attempt to balance technology with everyday usability for mass-market buyers.
Positioned As A Volume Driver
Mahindra has indicated that the upcoming model is expected to play a key role in expanding its EV presence.
According to Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO at Mahindra, the BO7 is expected to become a high-volume product that will add significantly to the company’s current electric portfolio.
The company is currently averaging around 4,000 EV sales per month and plans to increase this to 6,000–7,000 units monthly over the course of the year. However, industry-wide EV demand growth has slowed recently, making actual market response an important factor.
No New EV Launches In 2026
Mahindra has also confirmed that no new electric models are planned for 2026. The company recently launched the XEV 9S and the XUV 3XO EV earlier this year.
Instead, 2026 will focus on updates to existing internal combustion models, including the first facelift for the Scorpio N and revisions to the Thar lineup.
What This Means For Buyers

For Indian buyers, the Mahindra BE.07 Electric SUV is expected to expand options in the premium electric SUV segment, especially for those looking for a larger family-focused EV. However, the confirmed 2027 timeline means buyers in this segment will need to look at alternatives in the near term.
Conclusion
Mahindra’s confirmation of the Mahindra BE.07 Electric SUV production model for 2027 outlines the next phase of its born-electric strategy, with the larger SUV set to sit above the BE 6 and target higher volumes.
While the delayed timeline pushes the launch further out, the model is expected to play a key role in strengthening Mahindra’s position in India’s evolving electric SUV market.
