This full-size SUV is the flagship model in the company’s global portfolio and is known for its massive proportions, three-row cabin, powerful petrol engine, and off-road capability.

The Patrol could be launched in India via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. According to reports, its arrival is expected around early 2027, although Nissan has not yet officially announced the exact date of the India launch.
Nissan management has also confirmed interest in bringing the Patrol to India, but the final decision will depend on factors such as production capacity and market priorities.

Nissan Patrol Could Enter India As a CBU
If Nissan launches the Patrol in India, the company could import it as a CBU model rather than manufacturing it locally. This approach could result in a premium pricing for the SUV, but the Patrol’s role would be as a halo product for Nissan rather than a high-volume SUV.
The Patrol is a traditional body-on-frame SUV and is available in a large three-row configuration in global markets. Its overall size and rugged construction place it in the premium full-size SUV segment.
Senior Nissan executives have included India among the potential markets for the Patrol. However, the company has also indicated that the Patrol’s production capacity is limited and allocation between different global markets has to be carefully decided.
425hp Twin-Turbo V6 Engine Is The Big Highlight
The Nissan Patrol’s biggest attraction is its powerful petrol engine. A 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine is available in the global-spec SUV, generating peak outputs of 425hp and 700Nm.
This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, while power is sent to all four wheels via a four-wheel-drive system. Nissan’s official Middle East specifications also confirm 425hp, 700Nm, a 9-speed automatic, and a 4WD configuration.
With this combination, the Patrol offers powerful performance for highway cruising, along with strong capability in rough terrain and off-road conditions.
Premium Cabin Like a Luxury SUV
The Patrol’s cabin will also be a major selling point. High-end variants in global-market specifications include twin 14.3-inch displays, premium leather upholstery, powered seats, and advanced comfort features.
Higher-spec versions also offer features like 22-inch alloy wheels, adaptive air suspension, and a head-up display. Top Nissan variants also offer a 12.8-inch entertainment screen for rear passengers, seat ventilation and heating, memory functions, and premium cabin materials.
For an immersive audio experience, a 12-speaker Klipsch premium sound system is also offered in selected variants. These features give the Patrol the character of a luxury vehicle along with that of a traditional off-road SUV.

Advanced Driver Assistance Features
The Nissan Patrol also offers a robust package of technology and safety features. Depending on the variant, the SUV offers features like ProPILOT, Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent Cruise Control, Invisible Hood View, adaptive driving beam, and a head-up display.
Features like Invisible Hood View can be particularly useful when driving off-road, as they help the driver better understand the area in front of the vehicle.
Which SUV will it compete with in India?
Upon its arrival in India, the Nissan Patrol will be positioned significantly above regular seven-seat SUVs. It could directly compete with premium full-size SUVs, especially models like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
Due to the CBU import route and its powerful V6 petrol engine, the Nissan Patrol will not be priced in the affordable segment. However, Nissan’s objective is not to achieve volume sales, but to position the Patrol as a flagship halo SUV.
India Launch Not Yet Officially Confirmed
The most important point here is that Nissan has not yet announced an official date for the Patrol’s India launch. In April 2026, Nissan executives confirmed their interest in bringing iconic models to India via the CBU route, specifically mentioning the Patrol as a potential model.
The president of Nissan India also stated that the company has ambitions of making the Patrol a global product, but that immediate introduction of the vehicle in every market is not possible due to production capacity and market priorities.
Therefore, the early 2027 timeline should be viewed as an expected timeline until Nissan India officially confirms a launch date.

If the Nissan Patrol comes to India, it will be a major halo product for the brand. A 425hp 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, 700Nm torque, 9-speed automatic, 4WD, three-row cabin and premium technology could make it a serious contender in the Indian luxury SUV market.
