Another interesting SUV from Chery’s electric vehicle portfolio has been spotted in India. The Chery iCAUR 03 was recently spotted being transported on Indian roads via a flatbed truck.

What’s most interesting is that the SUV didn’t have any camouflage, allowing for a clear view of its exterior design.

The iCAUR 03 is a model from Chery’s electric-focused iCAUR brand and is positioned as a rugged, boxy electric SUV in global markets. Given its presence in India, there is speculation that it could be part of JSW Motors’ portfolio in the future. However, JSW Motors has not yet officially confirmed the iCAUR 03’s India launch.

The cabin of the iCAUR 03 is also quite modern compared to the rugged exterior theme. Features like a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 9.2-inch digital driver display, powered front seats, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS are available on the global model.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, and a premium multi-speaker audio system are also available on international versions.

However, the India-spec feature list is not yet confirmed.

Could This Be Another JSW Motors EV?

This is the most interesting part of the story.

The possibility of multiple Chery-group products arriving in India through the JSW Motors and Chery partnership is already strong. The iCAUR V23 has also been patented in India and spotted testing several times, with reports indicating a potential JSW Motors launch.

JSW Motors’ upcoming portfolio includes products from multiple Chery sub-brands, including Jetour, Jaecoo, and iCAUR.

The iCAUR 03’s undisguised appearance in India is therefore intriguing, but it’s too early to assume that the spotted SUV will definitely launch with the JSW badge. Official confirmation on this model will have to be awaited from the company.

Tata Sierra EV Rival?

If the iCAUR 03 launches in India under JSW Motors, its boxy design, AWD setup, and premium electric hardware could make it an interesting contender in the mid-size electric SUV segment.

Current reports are positioning it as a potential rival to the Tata Sierra EV.

JSW Motors is building its presence in this segment through Chery-based products, with the Jetour T2, Jaecoo J5, and iCAUR V23 already linked to its India plans.

Auto India Daily Verdict

The undisguised spotting of the Chery iCAUR 03 in India is certainly interesting, but it’s not yet clear whether it’s a confirmed upcoming model from JSW Motors.

If JSW launches this boxy electric SUV in India with local assembly and competitive pricing, its design and AWD hardware could become strong differentiators against models like the Tata Sierra EV.

For now, it’s better to view this as a potential JSW Motors model, not a confirmed launch.
