According to MotorTrend, the 2026 Jeep Recon Moab combines a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup with a 100.5kWh battery and produces 670 hp and 620 lb-ft of combined torque. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in a manufacturer-estimated 3.6 seconds.
But there is one major issue that could make American buyers think twice: range.
The Recon Moab has an EPA-rated range of just 222 miles, according to the latest first-drive reports. That’s considerably lower than what many buyers now expect from a roughly $67,000 electric SUV.

2026 Jeep Recon: 670 HP and 620 lb-ft of Torque
The Recon Moab currently arrives with a dual-motor electric powertrain and all-wheel drive.
MotorTrend’s latest test lists the combined output at 670 hp and 620 lb-ft, with a front and rear electric motor producing 335 hp each. The setup uses a single-speed direct-drive transmission.
That makes the Recon seriously quick for an off-road-focused SUV. Jeep estimates a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds, although outright acceleration isn’t really the main reason someone would buy this vehicle.

Jeep Recon Gets Removable Doors and Windows
One of the biggest reasons the Recon stands apart from conventional electric SUVs is its open-air capability.
According to MotorTrend, the doors and rear windows can be removed without tools, with the doors taking only a few minutes to remove. Jeep also offers a panoramic roof and an optional Sky One-Touch power soft top for buyers who want an even more open cabin.
This gives the Recon a clear connection to the Wrangler, although the new EV is not simply an electric Wrangler underneath.

The Moab has a 100.5kWh battery, but its EPA-rated range is only 222 miles. MotorTrend says the large battery still delivers relatively modest range because of the Recon’s boxy shape, all-terrain tires and more than 6,000-pound curb weight.
Road & Track is similarly critical of the range, pointing out that the Recon’s 222-mile rating is significantly below some newer electric off-road competitors.

The 2026 Jeep Recon Moab starts at $66,995, according to Jeep’s U.S. website.
However, Jeep’s website also lists an as-shown MSRP of $68,990 for the vehicle displayed on its page, before taxes, title and registration fees.
The Recon currently launches with the Moab trim. MotorTrend reports that an Overland version focused more heavily on on-road driving is expected to arrive in January, although Jeep has not announced its pricing yet.
Jeep Recon vs Rivian R2: Range Could Be the Deciding Factor
