Kawasaki India has launched the 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S in India at a starting price of Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom). The cruiser motorcycle gets a new dual-tone paint option with the MY27 update.
While there are no major changes to the mechanical package and overall equipment list. The new model is around Rs 10,000 more expensive than the outgoing version.

The previous model of the 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S was available for Rs 8.13 lakh (ex-showroom) and was available in a Metallic Flat Spark Black single-tone colour option. The new version introduces a Metallic Carbon Gray + Metallic Bluish Green dual-tone finish.

2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Price and Competition
The 2027 Vulcan S has been priced at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The price hike is relatively small, and the motorcycle’s core mechanical package is the same as the previous model.
In the Indian market, the Kawasaki Vulcan S competes with the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, while the upcoming Honda Rebel 500 will also be a potential rival in this segment.
Same 649cc Parallel-Twin Engine
Kawasaki has continued the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin petrol engine in the 2027 Vulcan S. This motor generates maximum power of 60.2 bhp at 7,500 rpm, while peak torque is 62.4 Nm at 6,600 rpm.
Torque output has increased by 1.4 Nm compared to the previous version. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, providing the same familiar cruiser-oriented mechanical setup.
Fuel tank capacity is 14 liters.
2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Suspension, Brakes, and Wheels
The 2027 Vulcan S is built on a tubular diamond frame. The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Disc brakes are provided on both wheels for braking duties, while dual-channel ABS is part of standard safety equipment.
The cruiser comes with 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. The front tire size is 120/70 section, while the rear uses a 160/60 section tire.

705mm Seat Height, 221kg Curb Weight
The low-slung cruiser stance of the Vulcan S is an important part of its identity. The saddle height of the motorcycle is 705mm, which provides a relatively accessible riding position.
However, its curb weight is 221kg. Ground clearance is 130mm, so riders will have to be a little cautious on rough roads or large speed breakers.
The clutch lever, brake lever and footpegs are adjustable to better adjust rider ergonomics.
2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Gets Classic Cruiser Design
The overall design of the 2027 model has been kept the same as the previous Vulcan S. Long-and-low stance, foot-forward riding position and slim backbone-style rear frame give the motorcycle a traditional cruiser character.
The under-engine muffler and sculpted seat design also make the motorcycle’s overall appearance distinctive. The seat features thick padding, which should help on longer rides.
The most noticeable MY27 update is its new dual-tone paint scheme.
Features and Instrument Console
There are no major changes to the features list. The motorcycle now features a multi-purpose LCD display with an analogue-style tachometer.
Information such as speed, gear position, and economical riding indicator are available on the LCD screen.
Overall, Kawasaki has focused on a color refresh and minor pricing revisions rather than a feature overhaul in the 2027 Vulcan S update.
Kawasaki’s MY27 Line-up Expands in India
Kawasaki India has been gradually expanding its MY27 portfolio over the past few months. The 2027 Ninja 300 was introduced in July, followed by the Versys 650 and Ninja 500 in August.
The latest Versys 1100 was also updated in the Indian market. The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S is the fifth MY27 motorcycle in the series.

The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S comes as a minor MY27 refresh rather than a major mechanical update. The new dual-tone colour gives the motorcycle a fresh look, while the 649cc parallel-twin engine, cruiser ergonomics, adjustable controls, dual-channel ABS and existing cycle hardware have been carried forward.
Priced at Rs 8.23 lakh, the Vulcan S will make an interesting option for buyers who want Kawasaki’s distinctive cruiser design and parallel-twin engine package. However, buyers expecting major feature or hardware changes in the MY27 update may find these updates relatively limited.
