Tata Motors’ upcoming compact sedan, the Tata Aeris, has once again made headlines just a day before its launch.
Ahead of its official debut on September 25, 2026, the Tata Aeris First Images of the car have surfaced online, giving a clear look at both the exterior and the cabin.

These Tata Aeris First Images provide the clearest indication yet of the Tata Aeris’ design. Several details, from the front profile, rear section, alloy wheels and dashboard to the steering wheel, are visible in the images.
The Tata Aeris will be introduced as a replacement for the current Tigor, but the company has positioned it with a new identity rather than just a regular facelift.

Tata Aeris First Images: Front Design Clear
The leaked Tata Aeris First Images clearly show the front profile of the Tata Aeris. The car features slim LED headlamps, with thin DRL elements integrated into the upper section. The front grille area also receives a cleaner treatment compared to the Tigor.
The Tata logo is positioned in the center of the grille, while the lower bumper features a black treatment and a wide air-intake design. Previous official teasers also confirmed a slimmer lighting setup and a revised front fascia.
The side profile retains the car’s familiar compact-sedan silhouette. However, new alloy wheel designs and revised body detailing distinguish it from the outgoing Tigor.
According to reports, the Aeris will also receive sheet-metal changes, so it can’t be limited to just the lights and bumpers.
Rear Profile Gets New Tail Lamps and Aeris Badging
The Tata Aeris’ redesigned LED tail lamps are clearly visible in the rear image. The lighting signature is sharper than the outgoing Tigor, while the Aeris badging on the tailgate receives a prominent position.
Changes are also expected to the rear bumper. Earlier design previews indicated a revised bumper, side reflectors, and updated boot-lid detailing. The overall treatment of the new rear design seems to be closer to the styling approach of Tata’s latest-generation models.
Tata also highlighted a new tail-lamp design and Aeris lettering in a recent teaser, confirming that the rear section will be one of the major visual changes on the new sedan.

Tata Aeris Interior Images Reveal New Dashboard
The leaked cabin images are even more interesting compared to the exterior. The images clearly show the Tata Aeris’ dashboard, which features an updated steering wheel, digital driver display, and revised center-console layout.
The steering wheel design appears to be inspired by Tata’s latest models, while the dashboard layout has been given a more modern look. A prominent housing for the touchscreen infotainment system is visible in the center section.
According to earlier reports, the Aeris’ cabin may use a heavily updated Tiago-inspired interior layout. Expected equipment list may include features like larger touchscreen infotainment system, revised digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and Type-C charging ports. However, Tata has not confirmed the complete variant-wise feature list before the launch.
Engine Options Likely Carry Forward
On the mechanical side, the Tata Aeris is expected to feature relatively few major changes. According to the latest information, the sedan will retain the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine.
Currently reported output is 84 bhp and 113 Nm, while transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. A CNG version is also expected, producing around 72 bhp and 96.5 Nm. Final figures and variant-wise availability will be confirmed by Tata at the launch event.
Reports have also surfaced regarding an electric version. The Aeris EV is likely to receive a setup related to the existing Tiago EV’s technical package, including 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery options, but its final specifications will be clear at launch.
Price and Rivals
The official price of the Tata Aeris will be announced on September 25. Current expectations suggest the entry price could start at around Rs. 6 lakh, although this is not an official figure.
Upon launch, the Aeris will directly compete with compact sedans like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze.
The biggest change for Tata with the Aeris isn’t just the name. The company is attempting to reposition the outgoing Tigor’s familiar compact-sedan packaging with fresh exterior styling, an updated cabin, and additional technology.
