Tata Motors has officially launched the new Tata Aeris in India, bringing a fresh compact sedan to the sub-4-metre segment. The new model replaces the Tigor nameplate and comes with a heavily revised exterior, updated cabin, new safety features and petrol-CNG powertrain options.

The New Tata Aeris price starts at Rs. 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol manual version, while the iCNG range starts at Rs. 6.29 lakh. The company has introduced the sedan in multiple personas, including Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished. The launch-day prices are introductory ex-showroom prices.

New Tata Aeris Price and Variants
Tata Motors has announced persona-wise introductory pricing for the new Aeris. The petrol MT range starts at Rs. 5.29 lakh and goes up to Rs. 8.19 lakh, while the iCNG MT range is priced from Rs. 6.29 lakh to Rs. 9.19 lakh.

The presentation also confirms AMT availability for selected petrol and iCNG variants. Tata is positioning the Aeris as a more feature-focused alternative in the compact sedan space.
Tata Aeris Engine and CNG Powertrain
The New Tata Aeris continues with Tata’s 1.2-litre petrol engine, with the petrol version offered with 5-speed manual and AMT transmission options.
For buyers looking for a CNG option, the Aeris iCNG produces 75.5 PS of peak power at 6,000rpm and 96.5Nm of maximum torque at 3,500rpm. The CNG version is also offered with manual and AMT transmission options, according to the launch presentation.
The availability of an AMT with the CNG powertrain is one of the key updates in the Aeris lineup. Earlier reports had already indicated that Tata would carry forward the petrol and CNG mechanical package from the Tigor, but the launch has now confirmed the final offering.
Tata Aeris Gets a Completely Updated Design
In terms of styling, Tata has given the Aeris a substantially revised appearance compared with the outgoing Tigor. The sedan gets a squared and planted stance, slim lighting elements and a new front-end design.
The launch presentation highlights the signature DRLs and distinctive tail lamps as key parts of the Aeris design. The front also features a wide black treatment around the grille area, while the rear gets a clean, sculpted boot design.
The new model retains the compact sedan’s notchback-style profile, but the revised bumpers, lighting and wheel design give it a noticeably different appearance from the Tigor. Pre-launch reports had also pointed towards new LED headlamps, LED fog lamps and revised front and rear styling.
New Tata Aeris Interior and Features
The cabin gets one of the biggest changes. The Aeris features a 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster and a new two-spoke steering wheel.
The dashboard follows a clean layout with physical controls for important functions. The cabin also gets a lighter beige-and-grey colour combination, giving it a different look compared with the darker interiors of the outgoing Tigor.
The touchscreen, digital cluster and revised dashboard were previewed by Tata ahead of the launch.

6 Airbags Standard Across All Variants
Safety is another major focus of the new Tata Aeris. Tata Motors has confirmed 6 airbags as standard across all variants.
The safety package also includes Blind View Monitoring, DVR, SVS, iTPMS, torque vectoring by braking, rollover mitigation, Hill Hold Control and Stability Control.
The sedan also gets a reinforced roll cage with high-strength materials, all-round impact protection, post-crash SOS support and post-crash panic notification.
This gives the Aeris a much more comprehensive safety equipment list than the outgoing model.
New Tata Aeris Rivals
The new Tata Aeris enters the competitive sub-4-metre sedan segment and will go up against models such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze.
With its revised styling, updated cabin, petrol and CNG options, AMT availability and standard six-airbag package, Tata is targeting buyers looking for a compact family sedan with a more modern equipment list.
