Chinese motorcycle manufacturer QJ Motor, which operates under the Geely Group, has unveiled the QJ Motor SRK 421 RR for the European market. The new supersport motorcycle enters the small-displacement performance segment with a 421cc inline-four engine, placing it directly against models such as the Kawasaki ZX-4RR.

The QJ Motor SRK 421 RR has been launched overseas at GBP 5,299 (approximately Rs 6.49 lakh), positioning it significantly lower than its Japanese rival in terms of pricing.

Inline-Four Engine With High-Revving Performance

At the heart of the QJ Motor SRK 421 RR is a 421cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine. The unit produces 78hp at 14,000rpm and 39Nm of torque at 13,000rpm, and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

These figures are comparable to those of the Kawasaki ZX-4R/ZX-4RR, which has helped revive interest in small-capacity four-cylinder sportbikes. High-revving inline-four engines are relatively rare in this displacement category, making the SRK 421 RR notable within the segment.

The engine is housed in what QJ Motor describes as a steel-aluminium composite braided frame, essentially a trellis-style chassis that combines both materials for improved rigidity and weight management.

Premium Hardware And Suspension Setup

The SRK 421 RR features several components typically associated with performance motorcycles. Suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable USD front forks and a rear monoshock supplied by Marzocchi.

Braking hardware comes from Brembo, with the front wheel using twin 300mm discs paired with four-piston callipers. At the rear, a 240mm disc with a two-piston Brembo calliper provides additional stopping power.

This combination suggests that QJ Motor is aiming to position the SRK 421 RR as a serious track-capable motorcycle rather than simply a road-focused sportbike.

Electronics And Rider Aids

The motorcycle comes equipped with a TFT instrument display that allows riders to switch between two riding modes — Normal and Sport.

According to the manufacturer, these modes alter throttle response and the level of intervention from traction control and ABS. The Sport mode is designed for aggressive riding and track use, allowing limited rear-wheel slip and controlled wheelies.

Additional accessories offered by the company include a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) as well as front and rear integrated cameras, highlighting the growing trend of connected technology in modern motorcycles.

Positioned Against The Kawasaki ZX-4RR

In the European market, the QJ Motor SRK 421 RR will compete with the Kawasaki ZX-4RR, one of the few motorcycles in the segment featuring a four-cylinder engine.

However, the QJ Motor offering comes in at a significantly lower price point. With the Kawasaki priced at around GBP 8,799 (approximately Rs 10.78 lakh), the SRK 421 RR undercuts its rival by roughly GBP 3,500 (around Rs 4.29 lakh).

This pricing strategy could make the motorcycle attractive to riders looking for inline-four performance without the higher cost typically associated with Japanese supersport machines.

What It Could Mean For The Market

The launch of the QJ Motor SRK 421 RR highlights a broader trend where Chinese motorcycle manufacturers are increasingly targeting premium segments traditionally dominated by Japanese and European brands.

While the motorcycle is currently available in European markets, its specifications indicate the growing interest in compact four-cylinder sportbikes globally. If such models expand to more regions in the future, they could broaden choices for enthusiasts looking for high-revving performance motorcycles in a smaller displacement category.

The QJ Motor SRK 421 RR represents an interesting addition to the supersport segment, combining a high-revving inline-four engine with premium hardware and a competitive price. As manufacturers continue exploring new performance niches, models like this could reshape expectations in the entry-level supersport category.
