The Windsor EV has generated a very strong response for MG in India and has become the most important volume contributor to the company’s electric vehicle portfolio. According to MG, the Windsor EV has crossed the 80,000-unit sales milestone in India. The Indulge Edition is being introduced to celebrate this success.

MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition Teased
MG’s teaser video first shows the silhouette of the Windsor EV’s familiar LED DRL design. The company then highlights the Windsor’s journey in India, where the model has reached over 80,000 families in two years.

The teaser highlights a new exterior color and a glimpse of the Windsor EV’s side profile. The video concludes with “Indulge” branding confirming the name of the upcoming special edition. However, MG has not yet officially revealed the Indulge Edition’s full details, launch date, or pricing.
According to reports, this MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition could be launched around Diwali, but the company is still awaiting confirmation of the exact launch date.

New Color and Cosmetic Changes Expected
The MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition is likely to receive some cosmetic updates to visually distinguish it from the standard model. Based on the color glimpsed in the teaser, a new paint shade in the champagne-gold style could be a major highlight of the special edition.
In addition, MG may introduce limited-edition detailing, new accessories, or special badging to the exterior and interior. However, these details have not yet been officially confirmed.
Due to its status as a special edition, no major changes are expected to the mechanical package. This means the Windsor EV Indulge’s primary focus is likely to be on exclusive styling and additional appeal rather than performance upgrades.
What’s in the Existing Windsor EV?
The current MG Windsor EV is available in India with different battery configurations. It offers 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh battery packs, with a claimed range of approximately 331 km to 449 km depending on the configuration.
One of the Windsor’s biggest strengths is its rear-seat comfort and spacious cabin. The EV features 135-degree reclining Aero-Lounge rear seats, designed with the comfort of long-distance passengers in mind.

The cabin’s biggest talking point is its 15.6-inch GrandView touchscreen infotainment system. Features like the Infinity Glass Roof are also available to enhance the premium interior ambiance.
These features are likely to be largely carried forward to the Indulge Edition, although MG has not yet confirmed the exact equipment list.

MG Windsor EV Sales: 3,224 Units in September
The Windsor EV has played a significant role in JSW MG Motor India’s sales performance. In September 2026, the company registered 3,224 Windsor EV units, placing the model fifth among India’s top-selling electric cars.
Between January and September 2026, Windsor EV sales stood at 30,668 units. July was one of the strongest months for the model during this period, with 4,659 units registered. The Windsor also recorded a monthly volume of 4,530 units in March.
Sales in August were 3,705 units and in September were 3,224 units. This certainly reflects a moderation in volumes in recent months, but the overall model’s cumulative performance remains strong.
By September, cumulative registrations of the Windsor EV had reached 78,722 units. The company subsequently announced crossing the 80,000-unit milestone.
Competition in the EV Market Is Getting Tough
The Indian EV market has become much more competitive than it already is for the Windsor EV. In September 2026, the Tata Punch EV topped the electric car sales charts with 4,666 units, while the Mahindra XEV 9S achieved volume of 4,439 units. The Tata Nexon EV’s September sales were 3,469 units.
Amidst this changing competitive landscape, the MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition could be an important step for the company to bring fresh attention to the product.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition could be a premium special edition celebrating the Windsor’s successful journey rather than a major mechanical upgrade.
New colors, exclusive styling elements, and additional cosmetic touches could set it apart from the standard Windsor. All eyes are on its official launch date, exact features, and pricing.
