2027 Hero Xtreme 250R Price and Availability
The 2027 Hero Xtreme 250R has been launched in a single Carbon variant at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.98 lakh. Currently, multiple trim options are not available, so buyers will have to decide based on features, performance, and color options rather than variant selection.
Bookings have opened, and deliveries will commence from November 1. Buyers should confirm the exact booking process, color availability, and on-road price with their city dealership.
2027 Hero Xtreme 250R Engine and Performance

The2027 Hero Xtreme 250R continues to feature the same 250cc engine. Its output is 29 bhp at 9,250 rpm, while peak torque is now 25.3 Nm, slightly higher than the outgoing model’s 25 Nm. Maximum torque is delivered at 7,500 rpm.
The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch. The most significant mechanical update is the bi-directional quick shifter, which allows for upshifts and downshifts without using the clutch. This feature can make gear changes faster and more convenient during spirited riding.
Ride-by-Wire, Cruise Control, and Four Riding Modes
Ride-by-wire throttle is one of the major additions to the 2027 Hero Xtreme 250R. Replacing the traditional mechanical throttle connection with electronic throttle control gives Hero the option to offer cruise control and multiple riding modes.
The motorcycle features four riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport, and Track. These modes are intended to adapt the motorcycle’s response to different riding conditions. Rain mode can be useful in slippery conditions, while Sport and Track modes are positioned for more performance-focused riding. The extent of the difference in actual response will only become clear after a detailed ride assessment.
Cruise control helps the rider maintain a set speed on highway rides. In the 250cc segment, this feature can improve everyday usability as well as long-distance riding convenience.
Frequency Selective Damping Rear Suspension
Another major highlight of the 2027 Hero Xtreme 250R is the rear suspension. The outgoing motorcycle featured a 6-step preload-adjustable monoshock, but the new model features a frequency selective damping unit. Hero is describing this technology as a world-first for a motorcycle.
The basic concept of frequency selective damping is to manage suspension response according to the frequency of road inputs. Its objective is to achieve a better balance between comfort and control in different riding conditions. However, its real-world performance on Indian roads can only be judged after a ride test.
The front suspension continues to feature USD forks. The biggest change to the suspension is therefore the rear setup, where new damping technology has been introduced.

New 4-Inch TFT Display and Connected Features

The updated 2027 Hero Xtreme 250R replaces the old LCD instrument console with a new 4-inch TFT display. It supports Bluetooth connectivity and can display turn-by-turn navigation, making daily commuting and riding on unfamiliar routes convenient.
Another new feature is tire pressure monitoring. The system can display tire pressure-related warnings on the TFT display. Monitoring tire pressure is useful for both safety and tire maintenance, although available sources do not confirm the system’s exact monitoring details and the full functionality of the alerts.
The new display, navigation, and tire pressure warnings significantly upgrade the motorcycle’s technology package compared to the outgoing model.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The 2027 Hero Xtreme 250R update isn’t just a cosmetic refresh. Additions like ride-by-wire, cruise control, four riding modes, a bi-directional quick shifter, and a TFT display make the motorcycle even more feature-loaded. Frequency selective damping in the rear suspension is also an interesting engineering update.
Engine output hasn’t changed significantly, but torque has been slightly increased. The key question now is how meaningful a difference the new features and suspension setup make in real-world riding. Priced at Rs. 1.98 lakh ex-showroom, the updated Xtreme 250R could be an interesting option for riders who want modern technology along with performance in a 250cc streetfighter.
