The Kawasaki Z900 received a comprehensive update for the 2025 model year, which saw a sharper design and expanded electronics package. The 2027 Kawasaki Z900 model carries forward the same updated platform. This time, the focus is on fresh styling options rather than performance improvements, so that buyers can enjoy a new look for the motorcycle.

Sharper Sugomi Design Continues

The 2027 Kawasaki Z900 styling is based on the brand’s Sugomi design philosophy. The motorcycle received a sharper design during the 2025 update, and that styling continues in the 2027 model. Its aggressive front section, muscular bodywork, and sporty stance give it a distinctive identity in the super-naked category.
The new color combinations give the motorcycle a fresh appearance, especially for buyers who want updated styling with a familiar performance package. The white and green combination offers a contrasting look, while the gray and black combination offers a comparatively understated appearance.
Apart from the design, no new bodywork, chassis revisions, or engine upgrades have been announced for the 2027 update. Therefore, it should be seen primarily as a color refresh, not an all-new generation motorcycle.

948cc Inline-Four Engine Remains Unchanged

The 2027 Kawasaki Z900 is powered by the same 948cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine develops maximum power of 124 hp at 9,500 rpm and peak torque of 98.6 Nm at 7,700 rpm.
The inline-four configuration is an important part of the Z900’s performance-focused character. The high-revving engine and strong power output make it relevant for riders who prioritize performance in a premium naked motorcycle. The engine output remaining unchanged in the 2027 model means buyers will receive familiar performance specifications.
Kawasaki has not confirmed any new changes to engine tuning, gearbox, or performance figures. The main highlights of this update are new colors and maintaining the existing price.
TFT Display, Cornering ABS, and Cruise Control Continue

With the 2025 model update, the Z900 received a 5-inch TFT instrument display, which includes features like smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. These features have been continued in the 2027 model.
The motorcycle also features electronic rider aids like cornering-sensitive ABS and traction control. Cornering-sensitive ABS provides braking assistance by considering information related to the motorcycle’s lean angle and movement during braking, while traction control helps manage rear-wheel grip.
Cruise control is also part of the equipment package, which can make long-distance riding more convenient in suitable highway conditions. The Z900’s electronics package remains unchanged with these features. Buyers should note that rider aids provide additional assistance, but are not a replacement for safe riding practices.
Suspension and Braking Hardware Also Remain the Same

Kawasaki has not announced any major changes to the suspension and braking components of the 2027 Kawasaki Z900. The motorcycle continues to feature a USD front fork and rear backlink monoshock setup.
The suspension’s rebound and spring settings are adjustable, allowing riders to adjust the setup to their preference and riding conditions. The front and rear braking hardware has also been carried forward.
This means that Kawasaki has retained the existing setup rather than redesigning the motorcycle’s mechanical package in this year’s update. For buyers familiar with the current Z900’s performance, handling, and features, the main difference in the 2027 model will be the color selection.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The 2027 Kawasaki Z900 is a focused model-year update. The unchanged ex-showroom price of Rs. 9.99 lakh, the 948cc inline-four engine with 124hp output, and the comprehensive electronics package remain key highlights of this motorcycle.
The new White/Green and Grey/Black colours offer buyers fresh styling options, but no major upgrades to mechanical performance have been announced.
If you are planning to buy the Z900, it would be useful to check availability at the dealership with the new colours. For existing owners, the reason for upgrading could be mainly styling preference, while new buyers get updated colour choices along with the familiar performance package.
