Jeep has officially revealed the 2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A. This special-edition Wrangler is based on the Rubicon and draws inspiration from the brand’s 1945 Willys CJ-2A, Jeep’s first civilian-oriented vehicle.
The new JL-2A features heritage-inspired colors, retro-style wheels, and a specially designed cabin, while the Rubicon’s core off-road hardware remains largely unchanged.

The JL-2A is the 11th limited-edition Wrangler in Jeep’s Twelve 4 Twelve program. Orders open in October 2026, and the special-edition package is priced at $4,995 (approximately Rs. 4.79 lakh) in the US.

2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A Exterior Design
The 2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A biggest highlight is its retro-inspired exterior theme. The two-door version is offered in Gobi, inspired by the original CJ-2A’s Harvest Tan finish. A ’41 olive green shade is available for the four-door version.
Bright White, Sting Gray, Ghost, and Joose color options are also available. To further distinguish the exterior, Jeep has provided 17-inch retro-style wheels with Joose paint, paired with 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires.
There are also orange tow hooks on the front and rear, dark metallic gray accents on the seven-slot grille, and body-colored fender flares. A three-piece hardtop is part of the standard package.
A special plaque is also included on the rear swing gate. It uses artwork inspired by the original CJ-2A dashboard data plate, recreating farm and factory scenes.
2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A Heritage-Inspired Interior
In the cabin, Jeep has also combined classic CJ-2A references with the modern Wrangler.
Nappa Heritage Tan leather seats are complemented by brown door panels, lower instrument panel, and center console. Orange contrast stitching continues the cabin’s retro theme.
The gear shifter features a Willys-Overland badge, while details like a seven-slot grille graphic and a Willys silhouette are found on the HVAC vents.
The Convenience Group is also part of standard equipment. It includes remote start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a universal garage door opener. A front TrailCam with integrated washer is also standard.
Wrangler Rubicon’s Off-Road Hardware Continues
On the mechanical front, Jeep has not announced any major changes for the JL-2A. The Special Edition is based on the Wrangler Rubicon and continues its core off-road setup.
It includes:
- Electronic locking front differential
- Electronic locking rear differential
- Electronic sway-bar disconnect
- Rock-Trac HD 4×4 system
- 4.10 rear axle ratio
- 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires

Engine Options Not Fully Confirmed
The current Wrangler Rubicon lineup offers multiple powertrain options depending on the market, but Jeep has not specifically confirmed which engine and gearbox combination will be offered with the JL-2A package. Therefore, it would not yet be correct to refer to the 3.6-liter V6 or 2.0-liter turbo-petrol as confirmed specifications for the JL-2A.
What is the connection to the 1945 Willys CJ-2A?
The Willys CJ-2A was introduced in July 1945 and was developed specifically for civilian use. Adapting the military Jeep-derived architecture for civilian customers, the CJ-2A was positioned for farming, ranching, and industrial applications.
The 2027 JL-2A celebrates this history with a modern Wrangler. Details like Gobi paint, heritage-inspired wheels, Willys badges, and rear data-plate artwork highlight the original CJ-2A connection.
2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A Price and Booking
The 2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A special package will be available for $4,995. This translates to approximately Rs. 4.79 lakh in Indian currency, although this is not an India-market price.
Orders in the US market will open in October 2026. Jeep has not yet confirmed the JL-2A launch or availability in India.
