Following the market response to the 5-door version of the Thar Roxx, Mahindra is now preparing to update the standard 3-door Thar as well. The new version is expected to retain the basic character of the current model, but could receive noticeable changes to the design and cabin.
According to the source, the new Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift could be launched around October-November 2026, during the festive season. Its expected ex-showroom price range could be between Rs. 9.50 lakh and Rs. 17 lakh.
The mechanical setup is expected to continue with the 1.5-liter and 2.2-liter diesel engines, along with a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine. The suspension setup could be tweaked to make it more comfort-oriented.
Design updates include a redesigned front grille and circular LED projector headlamps. The cabin could also feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a fully-digital instrument cluster, along with Level 2 ADAS.
2. Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Pickup

Mahindra’s upcoming product list also includes a lifestyle pickup truck, based on the Scorpio-N’s ladder-frame architecture. It is expected to launch in India as the Scorpio Lifestyler.
This pickup is planned to be launched in April 2027, and sources suggest its starting price could be less than Rs. 19.79 lakh.
The Scorpio Lifestyler is said to have a 4WD setup as standard. Selectable terrain modes and premium cabin features could be available. A portrait-style vertical touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto could also be part of the lineup.
It will primarily compete with models like the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross in the lifestyle pickup segment.

5. Mahindra XUV.e8 – Mahindra’s Large Electric SUV

The XUV.e8 is a key model in Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUV lineup. It will be a large, multi-row electric SUV and, in terms of design, could be called an electric version of the XUV700. Production-ready test models have also been spotted, giving an idea of its launch readiness.

Design & Features: The biggest highlight of this SUV could be its futuristic cabin. The dashboard could feature a corner-to-corner triple-screen setup, while copper-coloured accents and a redesigned closed-off front grille would give it the look of the Born Electric family.
If this timeline holds true, the XUV.e8 will be an important addition to Mahindra’s premium electric SUV range and could also offer an all-electric alternative to XUV700 buyers.
Upcoming Mahindra SUVs Range Offers Plenty of Variety
Mahindra is preparing products across multiple SUV segments rather than focusing on just one category. The Thar facelift is expected to appeal to lifestyle SUV buyers, while the Scorpio Lifestyler could give the brand a stronger presence in the lifestyle pickup segment.
The Vision S, meanwhile, is expected to take Mahindra into the compact SUV space with a new platform and design direction.
On the electric side, models such as the BE.07 and XUV.e8 are expected to strengthen Mahindra’s Born Electric strategy. The XUV.e8 was originally showcased as an INGLO-based electric SUV, while Mahindra has continued to expand its electric portfolio around the same architecture.
So, if you are planning to buy an SUV in 2026 or 2027, it may be worth keeping an eye on these upcoming Mahindra SUVs before making a final decision. However, the launch timelines, expected prices and features mentioned in this article are subject to change until Mahindra officially confirms them.
