Bugatti has introduced another unique model to its bespoke hypercar universe. The company’s new Bugatti Destrier is a one-off hypercar developed under the Programme Solitaire, meaning only one unit of this car was built.

The Destrier shares the Bugatti Bolide’s carbon-fiber monocoque and its powerful W16 powertrain, but its design is completely distinct.
The company developed it not as a track-focused hypercar solely for high speeds, but with design, craftsmanship, and grand touring character in mind.
Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire is a modern interpretation of bespoke coachbuilding. Under this program, a very limited number of completely unique cars are created for customers.

Why Bugatti Destrier’s design is special?
The Bugatti Destrier’s most distinctive feature is its exterior design. The car’s underpinnings are derived from the Bolide, but it features entirely new bodywork.
Its design draws inspiration from the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic, a historic Bugatti that the company considers one of its most iconic design icons. Only four Type 57 SC Atlantic cars were produced between 1936 and 1938.
The Destrier lacks the large aerodynamic elements of the Bolide. Instead, it features more clean and sculpted body surfaces.
The car features a new take on Bugatti’s signature C-line. A wide horseshoe grille, new lighting elements, prominent rear haunches, and an integrated rear wing distinguish it from the Bolide.
Its height is nearly 1 meter, making it one of the lowest-slung Bugatti creations ever.
The Destrier features 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Its proportions are said to be inspired by a medieval war horse, which is why it was named Destrier.
This one-off hypercar is finished in a special Sapphire Celeste paint shade. It also features polished aluminum elements and exposed carbon-fiber details.
Carbon-fiber chassis from the Bolide
The Bugatti Destrier shares its technical foundation with the Bolide. It uses the same carbon-fiber monocoque architecture, although the exterior has been completely redesigned for the new purpose.
The Bugatti Bolide itself is a track-only hyper sports car and uses a 1,600PS W16 engine. The company limited the Bolide to just 40 units.
The use of this same powertrain in the Destrier is one of its biggest technical highlights.
Power from a 1,600PS W16 engine
The Bugatti Destrier is powered by an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine, which produces a maximum power of 1,600PS.
Although Bugatti hasn’t released acceleration or top-speed figures for this one-off model, the reason is clear. The Destrier isn’t designed solely for maximum performance.
This car focuses heavily on design, craftsmanship, and a distinctive grand touring character.
Therefore, no official figures have been released regarding its exact performance figures.

The interior is also completely different
While the Bolide’s cabin is completely track-focused and minimalistic, the Destrier’s interior is designed to be more luxurious and craftsmanship-oriented.
Ambre Voyageur leather and nubuck upholstery are used in the cabin. Additionally, bespoke 3D-knitted textiles crafted from copper yarn also add to the interior’s distinctive character.
Hammered metal finishes are featured on the door handles, air vents, steering wheel hub, and entry plates. These details align with the car’s medieval-inspired theme.
The interior also features a discreet French flag, reflecting Bugatti’s French heritage.
The third exclusive creation of Programme Solitaire
The Bugatti Destrier was designed under Programme Solitaire. It is part of Bugatti’s modern coachbuilding approach, which creates highly personalized and unique automobiles for customers.
Bugatti began the Solitaire program with the Brouillard, followed by the F.K.P. Hommage. According to official Bugatti materials, this program emphasizes one-of-one creations and aims to modernize the brand’s historic coachbuilding tradition.
The Destrier continues this philosophy, but its character is more elegant and grand-touring-oriented than the Bolide.
Bugatti Destrier price?
Bugatti has not publicly disclosed the Destrier’s price.
Since it is a 1/1 bespoke commission, it is not priced like a typical production Bugatti. Customer requirements, customization, and the level of craftsmanship influence the price.
When will the Bugatti Destrier be released?
The Bugatti Destrier’s public debut is expected to take place during Monterey Car Week, which will culminate in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 16, 2026.
Bugatti has previously showcased Programme Solitaire creations at high-profile automotive events like Monterey Car Week.

Calling the Bugatti Destrier just another hypercar would be understating its character. It shares the Bolide’s engineering foundation, but aims to emphasize design and exclusivity rather than chasing lap times.
The 1,600PS W16 engine, carbon-fiber monocoque, Type 57 SC Atlantic-inspired styling, and a completely bespoke cabin make it one of Bugatti’s signature one-off creations.
The Destrier is unique and there will be no second generation.
