Exterior design similar to the standard BE 6
The biggest change to the Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition’s exterior is its design. The previous Formula E edition featured sporty elements like slim front and rear DRLs, circular LED headlamps, and bulky bumpers.

The new Freedom Edition replaces these with a design similar to the standard BE 6. It features comparatively sleek bumpers with C-shaped front and rear DRLs.
However, Mahindra has maintained the identity of this special edition by adding Formula E badging to the front fenders. The car also gets a new color option called Rosso Impulso and tri-color decals on the body.
Firestorm Orange Theme in the Cabin
No major changes have been made to the interior layout. However, special touches have been added to the cabin to give the Freedom Edition a distinct look from the standard BE 6.
It features a Firestorm Orange color theme, leatherette and suede upholstery, and a ‘Formula E Freedom Edition’ plaque. The panoramic glass roof also features Formula E decals.

The halo-style loop on the dashboard has also been continued here. It separates the driver and co-driver areas. For this reason, the Freedom Edition features dual 12.3-inch screens, while the BE 6 Sporteq features a triple-screen setup.

540-degree camera becomes a special feature
In terms of features, the Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition gets quite premium equipment. It includes features like a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, and ambient lighting.
An important highlight of this special edition is its 540-degree camera system. This setup also provides an underground view with a 360-degree camera.
Notably, this feature was not available in the standard BE 6 and previous Formula E editions, according to the source.
What’s changed in the BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition?

Overall, Mahindra has given the Formula E edition a different direction this time. Instead of the aggressive styling elements of the previous version, the new Freedom Edition focuses on the familiar design of the standard BE 6 with special color, decals and Formula E branding.
The layout in the cabin has also been kept largely unchanged, but special upholstery, plaque and Formula E-themed detailing make it different from the regular BE 6. Features like a 540-degree camera have also made the equipment list of this edition interesting.

Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition: Our Verdict
The Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition could be an interesting option for buyers who want a different and exclusive experience from the regular BE 6. The biggest plus points of this edition are its unique Formula E-themed treatment, special interior detailing, and features like a 540-degree camera.
However, compared to the previous Formula E edition, its exterior no longer looks as aggressive and comes with styling closer to the standard BE 6. Therefore, this edition may appeal more to those who prioritize premium features and exclusivity over a subtle design.
Overall, if Mahindra is able to justify the pricing of this special edition as a premium over the regular BE 6, the Freedom Edition could become an appealing lifestyle-focused choice in the BE 6 lineup.
