Maruti Suzuki has officially launched its first all-electric SUV, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, in India with a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh under a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) model. The new EV enters a rapidly expanding mid-size electric SUV segment, competing with models such as the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and Mahindra’s upcoming electric offerings.
Production of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is already underway at the company’s Gujarat facility, with India-built units also earmarked for export markets.

Ownership Model and Charging Ecosystem
To support adoption, Maruti Suzuki is offering several ownership benefits with the e Vitara. These include 60 percent assured buyback after three years, complimentary home charger installation, and one year of free public charging.
The company has also outlined a long-term plan to expand EV infrastructure, targeting support for over one lakh public charging points across India by the end of the decade.
Platform, Size and Practicality

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is built on the new Heartect-e skateboard platform, designed specifically for electric vehicles. It measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and around 1,640 mm in height, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase.
Ground clearance stands at approximately 185 mm, while the boot offers 310 litres of luggage space. Buyers can choose from 11 exterior colour options, including monotone and dual-tone combinations.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Safety and Technology

The electric SUV has received a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, scoring 31.49/32 for adult occupant protection and 43/49 for child safety.
Standard safety equipment includes seven airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX mounts. The e Vitara also offers a Level 2 ADAS suite, featuring functions such as adaptive cruise control.
Inside, the five-seat cabin comes equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster, powered front seats, automatic climate control, connected-car features, and a surround-view camera.
