With its positioning at the top of MG’s SUV lineup, the Majestor is aimed at buyers considering premium ladder-frame rivals like the Toyota Fortuner, while also attracting customers looking at large monocoque SUVs such as the Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq.

The Majestor is powered by a single engine option — a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel producing 215hp and 478Nm. This is the same unit seen in higher variants of the Gloster. Transmission duties are handled by a ZF-sourced 8-speed torque-converter automatic.

Buyers can choose between rear-wheel drive and an on-demand four-wheel-drive system. The 4WD variants feature MG’s terrain management system, offering up to 10 drive modes. Off-road capability is further enhanced by a low-speed transfer case, differential locks via the ‘M-Crawl’ function, and a claimed water-wading depth of up to 810mm.

Large Dimensions and Bold Road Presence

Based on the global Maxus D90, the Majestor carries a rugged, upright design typical of full-size SUVs. It measures 5,046mm in length, 2,016mm in width and has a 2,950mm wheelbase.

Exterior highlights include:

  • ‘Mosaic Matrix’ grille with horizontal and vertical LED DRLs
  • Integrated headlamp units within the bumper
  • 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels (top variants)
  • Fixed side steps and pronounced body cladding
  • Full-width LED tail-lamps and a sculpted tailgate

The SUV will be available in four monotone colours: Metal Black, Pearl White, Concrete Grey and Metal Ash.

Premium Cabin with 6- and 7-Seat Layouts

Inside, the Majestor gets a two-tone cabin with soft-touch materials and contrast stitching. Buyers can opt for a practical 7-seater layout or a more premium 6-seater configuration with second-row captain seats.

Boot capacity stands at 343 litres with all rows up and expands to 1,350 litres when the third row is folded. A gesture-controlled powered tailgate adds convenience.

The dashboard features a redesigned layout with twin 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and the digital instrument cluster, along with MG’s i-Smart 2.0 connected car technology.

MG Majestor Unveiled in IndiaWhat It Means for Buyers

With the MG Majestor Unveiled in India, MG is strengthening its presence in India’s growing premium SUV segment, where buyers increasingly expect a combination of strong road presence, advanced technology and long-term ownership assurance.

Its ladder-frame construction, diesel-only powertrain and genuine off-road hardware will appeal to traditional full-size SUV buyers, while the extensive feature list targets customers upgrading from monocoque SUVs.

Final pricing, expected in April, will determine how competitively the Majestor positions itself against established rivals. Until then, early bookings and introductory benefits suggest MG is targeting strong initial demand for its new flagship.
