Skoda Auto India is all set to introduce a new avatar of its popular mid-size sedan. The company will unveil the Skoda Slavia Facelift on August 18 and with this update, the sedan is set to be further enhanced in terms of design, technology and driving experience.

Test mules have been spotted on Indian roads for the past few months and now with the launch date coming in, it is clear that the Czech carmaker is going to give a fresh appeal to its sedan lineup.
Competition in the mid-size sedan segment has already increased rapidly. Models like Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Honda City have become strong options for buyers.
In this regard, the Skoda Slavia Facelift isn’t just coming with cosmetic updates, but it could also feature mechanical changes that will make the driving experience more refined than before.

The exterior will offer a more Premium & Modern Look
According to information obtained from spy images, the Skoda Slavia Facelift’s overall silhouette will remain similar to the current model, but the front fascia will be noticeably updated.
The company may introduce new lighting signatures with revised LED headlamps, giving the sedan an even more premium road presence.
The front grille is also expected to receive changes. Reports suggest it could feature illuminated elements inspired by the latest Kushaq and Kodiaq. The front bumper will also be redesigned to give the car a sportier stance.

Expected features could include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, an eight-speaker sound system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and six airbags.
This means that even after the facelift, the Slavia will remain a feature-loaded sedan and offer a strong package compared to its rivals.
Biggest Mechanical Update with a 1.0 TSI Engine

The current model’s 1.0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine comes paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Reports suggest that the company may replace this transmission with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Engine output is expected to remain unchanged. This engine will produce approximately 115 hp, but the new transmission could help deliver smoother shifts and a better cruising experience. The gearbox’s refinement is also expected to be better in city traffic.

This turbo-petrol unit produces approximately 150 hp and is expected to continue with the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. A manual transmission option will also remain part of the lineup.
This means that the Skoda Slavia Facelift will offer buyers two distinct driving characters—a refined everyday commuter and a performance-focused turbo-petrol package.

According to industry estimates, the price hike will not be very aggressive. The company will aim to maintain its competitive positioning and maintain a strong value proposition between the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna, and Honda City.
