Ather has officially launched the Konarc electric scooter in the Indian market at its Annual Community Day event. The starting price of this new electric scooter has been kept at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
The Ather Konarc has been introduced in three variants – S 100, S 125 and S 161 – whose names indicate their respective IDC range.

According to the company, a 200km IDC range version of the Konarc could also become a part of the lineup in the future. Apart from this, a feature-loaded Konarc Z variant will also be introduced, which will come with a 125km IDC range.
Ather has developed this scooter as a combination of comfort, practicality, and technology, with deliveries scheduled to begin in September 2026.

Ather Konarc: Price, Variants & Range
The Ather Konarc is currently offered in three S variants. The entry-level S 100 is priced at Rs 1 lakh, while the S 125 and S 161 are priced at Rs 1.22 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh, respectively.

Ather has confirmed that the Konarc Z range will include additional technology and features, while prices will be announced later. The company may also add a version with a 200km IDC range in the future.
Ather Konarc is based on the EL Platform
The Ather Konarc is developed on the company’s new EL platform. According to Ather, approximately 2.6 million kilometers of field data was used in developing this platform. It features a new chassis, powertrain, and electronics architecture.
The scooter features 90mm of front and 100mm of rear suspension travel, which should help improve ride comfort on Indian roads. Its 1,352mm wheelbase is the longest among Ather’s existing scooters. The scooter features a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheel setup.
Braking hardware varies depending on the variant. The S 100 features drum brakes at both ends, while the S 125 and S 161 feature a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum brake setup.
Battery, Power & Real-World Range
The Ather Konark S 100 features a 2.1kWh battery pack, which produces 4kW of power and 16Nm of torque. The S 125 features a 2.7kWh battery, and the S 161 features a 3.5kWh battery. The motors in both higher variants generate 4.7 kW of peak power and 16 Nm of torque.
The three variants have a claimed top speed of 70 km/h. In comparison, the S 100, S 125, and S 161 claim IDC range of 100 km, 125 km, and 161 km, respectively. Their Ather TrueRange figures are 80 km, 100 km, and 130 km.
A Konarc version with a 200 km IDC range is also expected in the Ather lineup in the future, which could be an interesting option for long-range electric scooter buyers.

Charging Time & Charger Details
A 450 W onboard charger is standard with the Konarc. Ather offers the option to increase the combined charging capacity to 1.35 kW with an optional 900W off-board charger.
0-80 percent charging with a standard charger takes around 4 hours for the S 100, 4 hours 30 minutes for the S 125, and 5 hours 40 minutes for the S 161. With a combined charger setup, these times are reduced to 2 hours, 2 hours 25 minutes, and 3 hours 10 minutes, respectively.
According to the company, 10 minutes of charging can add around 13 km of range to the S 100, while around 15 km of range can be added to the S 125 and S 161.
31-Liter Boot & Practicality
Ather has also focused heavily on making the Konarq practical. The scooter offers 31 liters of underseat storage, which is useful for carrying daily-use luggage. It also features an 18W USB Type-C charging port and an underseat lamp.
The entry-level S 100 comes with a 4.2-inch DeepView display, while higher variants feature a 7-inch DeepView display. The scooter also features a Park Assist reverse function, which uses the motor to assist in reverse maneuvers.
The AutoHold feature is also useful for stationary holding the scooter at traffic signals or stops.
Konarc Z Gets Advanced Technology
The Ather Konarc Z range features some of the company’s new technologies. The most significant of these is the Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS). According to Ather, this helps reduce stopping distance through electronic braking control and minimize rear-wheel lock-up during hard braking.
The Konarc Z also features a MagicKey feature. This allows riders to unlock the scooter’s trunk using the Ather app, eliminating the need for a physical key. The Konarc Z 161 integrates MagicKey with the AutoPop function, allowing the trunk to open automatically.
Higher variants will also feature Google Maps and WhatsApp on the dashboard. Cricket scores can also be displayed when the scooter is stationary.
Connected Features & Software
The Ather Konarc also comes with the Ather Connect connectivity suite. This includes features like theft and tow alerts, ride statistics, Find My Scooter, and remote charging-status monitoring.
The scooter also supports OTA updates, allowing future software-based features and improvements to be added remotely.
Both the battery and PMSM motor are IP67 rated. The battery is housed in an aluminum casing, which provides additional protection.
Weight & Service Intervals
The Ather Konarc S 100 has a kerb weight of 126.5 kg, while the S 161 weighs 129 kg. The company has also revised the scooter’s service intervals.
Periodic maintenance on the Konark is now scheduled at intervals of 10,000km or one year, whichever comes first. Ather says that the reduced component count in the EL platform allows for faster assembly and servicing processes.
The company also demonstrated the platform’s serviceability during the event, where trained technicians dismantled and reassembled the battery and motor in around three minutes.
