BMW had already opened bookings for the updated 7 Series range in India on August 1, with the facelifted 7 Series and i7 expected to receive several design and technology changes over their outgoing versions. The India-spec variants and final pricing will be revealed during today’s launch.

The biggest highlights include a revised exterior design, updated lighting elements and a heavily reworked cabin featuring a 17.9-inch infotainment screen, 14.6-inch passenger display and BMW Panoramic Vision. The flagship sedan also continues to offer high-end rear-seat features, including the massive 31.3-inch 8K Theatre Screen.

4:15 PM — BMW 7 Series & i7 Facelift Launch LIVE: BMW 7 Series & i7 Facelift Launched at Rs 1.95 Crore

BMW has launched the updated 7 Series and i7 electric sedan in India, with prices starting at Rs 1.95 crore. These models arrive as a mid-life update to the G70 generation, after nearly four years.

Both ICE and EV versions are now locally assembled in India, making India the second country outside Germany to assemble the i7.

4:10 PM — BMW 7 Series & i7 Facelift Launch LIVE: BMW 7 Series Gets Enhanced Executive Lounge Rear Seats

The rear-seat experience of the BMW 7 Series facelift has been made more premium. The Enhanced Executive Lounge package includes a reclining function, allowing the seatbacks to recline up to a 43-degree torso angle.

The BMW 7 Series and i7 facelift feature a multi-screen layout. Both models feature a 14.6-inch passenger display, a Panoramic Vision HUD that stretches from A-pillar to A-pillar, and a 31.3-inch 8K Theater Screen for rear passengers, paired with a Bowers & Wilkins sound system.


4:00 PM — BMW 7 Series & i7 Facelift Launch LIVE: BMW 7 Series Continues With 740 Petrol Variant

The 740 variant continues in the BMW 7 Series India range. It is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six petrol engine that produces 400bhp and 540Nm and sends power to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

BMW 7 Series facelift showcased in green, featuring the redesigned front grille, slim LED headlights and premium alloy wheels at the India launch.

This sedan can sprint from 0-100kmph in 5.4 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250kmph.


3:58 PM — BMW 7 Series & i7 Facelift Launch LIVE: BMW i7 Gets New M70 xDrive Variant

A new M70 xDrive variant has been added to the India-spec BMW i7 range. The dual-motor setup generates 680bhp and 1,100Nm, while 0-100kmph happens in just 3.8 seconds. Its claimed WLTP range is 686km.

Meanwhile, the i7 eDrive50 gets an upgraded 112.5kWh battery pack, increasing the claimed range to 728km (WLTP). The eDrive50 will be locally assembled in India, while the M70 xDrive will come via the CBU route.

The BMW 7 Series and i7 are now locally assembled in India. The updated i7 also gets a 31.3-inch 8K Theater Screen for rear passengers, further enhancing the flagship luxury experience.


3:15 PM — BMW 7 Series & i7 Facelift Launch LIVE: i7 Facelift Gets Bigger Battery & Standard AWD

The most significant technical upgrade ahead of the BMW i7 facelift’s India launch is its larger 112.4kWh battery. The updated international-spec i7 range also includes an increased battery capacity, and the entry-level i7 50 also gets xDrive all-wheel drive, while the outgoing version was available with a rear-wheel-drive setup.

In the international market, the i7 50 xDrive and i7 60 xDrive offer a WLTP claimed range of around 728km and 727km, respectively. The top-spec i7 M70 xDrive produces 671bhp and boasts a claimed range of up to 686km.

The exact variants and battery configurations that will be offered on the India-spec i7 facelift are yet to be confirmed with an official announcement from BMW. The current BMW India website currently lists the outgoing i7 variants, so the current prices cannot be considered official pricing for the facelift.


1:15 PM — BMW 7 Series & i7 Facelift Launch LIVE: BMW i7 Facelift Gets a Major Charging Upgrade

The BMW i7 facelift not only has increased battery capacity, but also improved charging capability. The updated i7 features a 112.4kWh battery pack with up to 250kW DC fast charging support. According to BMW, charging the battery from 10–80 percent takes around 28 minutes.

Just 10 minutes of charging on a fast charger can provide up to around 185km of additional range, depending on the variant and charging conditions. The larger battery, combined with the i7 50 xDrive’s claimed WLTP range, has reached 727km, a jump of around 103km compared to the outgoing model.

Final confirmation on which configurations these charging and battery specifications will be available in the India-spec i7 will be available after BMW India’s launch announcement.


11:24 AM — BMW 7 Series & i7 Facelift Launch LIVE: Powertrain Lineup Gets More Interesting

International-spec models of the BMW 7 Series facelift continue to feature 48V mild-hybrid technology with 3.0-liter six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. BMW has also added plug-in hybrid options, while the all-electric i7 receives a major range upgrade with a new 112.5kWh battery.

The 60 xDrive and 50 xDrive variants in the international i7 lineup have a claimed WLTP range of around 727–728km, while the top-spec i7 M70 xDrive produces 671bhp and boasts a range of up to 686km.

The most important update for now will be the official announcement of the India-spec powertrain combination and exact variants. BMW India opened pre-launch bookings for the updated 7 Series range on August 1.

The BMW 7 Series and i7 facelift have received noticeable updates to the cabin along with the exterior. The front profile features slimmer split LED headlights, an illuminated kidney grille, and larger bumper air intakes, while the rear section features revised wraparound LED taillights and an updated bumper.
