Tata Motors has launched the Sierra Dark Edition in India, with prices starting at Rs. 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the Sierra’s Legend Series, this special edition SUV offers a darker and more premium look.
The Tata Sierra Dark Edition has been introduced in six Legend Series trims, with bookings opening today and deliveries expected next month.

This is the latest addition to Tata Motors’ Dark Edition strategy. The Sierra Dark features a black-themed treatment from the exterior to the cabin, with purple accents added to the interior. The Sierra’s existing petrol and diesel powertrain options are also retained.

Tata Sierra Dark Edition: What’s changed?
The biggest highlight of the Tata Sierra Dark Edition is its new Friesian Black exterior color. Additionally, Tata has given the chrome elements a black treatment, making the SUV’s overall look more stealthy than the regular Sierra. The 19-inch alloy wheels retain the same design, but are finished in black.
The all-black theme continues in the cabin as well. Tata has customized the interior with purple elements from the Violet Eclipse theme. This gives the dashboard and cabin ambiance a distinct visual identity from the regular Sierra.
The feature list varies depending on the variant, but the top-spec Sierra offers features like a triple-screen dashboard layout, a 540-degree camera system, Boss Mode, dual-zone climate control, connected-car technology, leatherette upholstery, and full-LED lighting. Level 2 ADAS is also available on the higher variants of the Sierra.

Petrol, Diesel, and Turbo-Petrol Engine Options
The Tata Sierra Dark Edition offers multiple powertrain options. The base Pure L #DARK variant is offered with 1.5-liter Revotron petrol and 1.5-liter Kryojet diesel engines with a manual gearbox.
Moving up the range, customers get petrol DCA and diesel automatic options. The Adventure+ L #DARK is one of the most versatile variants, with petrol manual, petrol DCA, diesel manual, diesel AT, and 1.5-liter Hyperion turbo-petrol AT options available.
The Sierra’s regular lineup includes 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-liter turbo-petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel engines. The turbo-petrol engine produces 160 PS and 255 Nm, while the diesel engine produces 118 PS and 260-280 Nm of torque, depending on the transmission.

The Tata Sierra Dark Edition is directly positioned in the premium mid-size SUV space. Its key rivals include models like the Kia Seltos X-Line, Hyundai Creta N Line, Tata Curvv Dark Edition, and Honda Elevate Signature Dark Edition.
The Sierra’s advantage is its distinctive exterior design and feature-rich cabin. With the Dark Edition, Tata has given this package a more exclusive blacked-out appearance.
