Jeep is preparing to unveil a mystery SUV at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, and speculation is rife that this model could be the new-gen Jeep Renegade.
In invitations sent to global media, the American SUV brand showcased a large box covered in fabric with the Jeep logo and “Destination: Paris” written on it. The company has not yet officially revealed which model is inside this mystery box.

However, considering the timing and Jeep’s future product plans, the possibility of a next-gen Renegade appears strong. Jeep has confirmed plans to introduce two new B-segment compact SUVs for Europe by 2030. The silhouette of a completely new, boxy SUV was also shown at the Stellantis Investor Day, which the company did not officially identify as the Renegade.

New SUV to be Positioned Between Avenger and Compass
If the mystery model is the new-gen Jeep Renegade, it could be positioned between the Avenger and Compass in Europe. Jeep’s future European product plan includes two new B-segment SUVs, internally referred to as the “B SUV Compact” and “B SUV Large.“
According to reports, these SUVs could be roughly around 4.2 meters in length. This positioning will create a new product space in Jeep’s European lineup, above the Avenger and below the Compass.
This development becomes even more interesting following the Renegade’s European exit. The first-generation Renegade was discontinued in Europe in 2025, while the Avenger assumed the position of the entry-level European Jeep SUV. Jeep’s future plans now include a new compact SUV positioned between the Avenger and Compass.
New-Gen Jeep Renegade May Come With a Boxy Design
The silhouette of the mystery SUV shown at the Stellantis Investor Day featured a squared-off and upright design. This suggests that the upcoming SUV could draw inspiration from the current Compass’ design language, but the overall appearance could be more rugged and upright.
Jeep’s traditional seven-slot grille could be a prominent element in the front profile. A setup of slim lighting elements above it was also highlighted in silhouettes and previews. The overall design could be considerably different from the current-generation Renegade, but Jeep’s traditional styling cues are likely to be retained.
However, an important clarification is needed here. Jeep has not yet officially confirmed that the silhouette shown at Investor Day is the Renegade successor. Therefore, the Paris debut should be viewed as an expected possibility for now.

Could be based on the STLA One platform
Stellantis’ STLA One architecture could play an important role in the upcoming compact Jeep SUV. This platform has been developed to accommodate multiple types of powertrains, allowing Stellantis to adapt the same basic vehicle architecture to suit the requirements of different markets.
This means that future SUVs won’t necessarily be limited to traditional petrol engines. Electrified powertrains alongside internal-combustion engines could also be part of the lineup. Reports have also discussed the possibility of a full-hybrid HEV system.
If Jeep introduces the New-Gen Jeep Renegade with this approach, the model could address both changing emissions regulations and the growing demand for electrified SUVs in the European market.
Possibility of Hybrid and Electric Powertrains
Powertrain details have not yet been officially revealed, but the flexible nature of the STLA One architecture creates the possibility of offering multiple propulsion options for future Jeep SUVs.
According to reports, ICE, electric, and strong hybrid/HEV options could be part of the future lineup. The advantage of the HEV system is that the SUV will also be able to run on the electric motor in limited situations, a different approach from conventional 48V mild-hybrid systems.
Final engine specifications, battery capacity, electric range, and performance figures will have to await Jeep’s official announcement.

The 2026 Paris Motor Show is set to be a very interesting event for Jeep. The brand has created suspense before the reveal by hiding a mystery model inside a box. Stellantis’ overall plan also calls for multiple concepts for the Paris event, so it’s possible that Jeep will simply showcase future design direction and reveal the final production version later.
While the Paris debut of the new-gen Jeep Renegade isn’t yet confirmed, available clues make this possibility a strong possibility.
