BMW Motorrad has unveiled its new F 450 RR sportbike. This is the third motorcycle based on the company’s 420cc platform, joining the lineup after the F 450 GS adventure bike and the F 450 R naked roadster.
The new model pairs the familiar twin-cylinder engine with a fully faired sportbike design, featuring winglets, adjustable suspension, and track-focused equipment.

The BMW F 450 RR has been revealed for the international market for now. The company has not yet confirmed its pricing or India launch timeline. The motorcycle is manufactured at TVS’s Hosur facility, which is part of the existing partnership between BMW and TVS.
If it comes to India, its performance-focused setup could make it an interesting option in the premium entry-level sportbike segment.

BMW F 450 RR Engine and Performance

The BMW F 450 RR is powered by a 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. This motor develops a maximum power of 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and a peak torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. The basic setup of the engine and steel tubular chassis is shared with the F 450 R and F 450 GS, but the RR has been tuned for its sportbike role.
The engine acts as a stressed member in the chassis, forming an important part of the overall packaging and structural layout. BMW has given the RR a full fairing and winglet-style aerodynamic elements, making it visually distinct from the naked F 450 R. However, the company has not yet shared figures such as aerodynamic performance or track lap times.
Suspension, Brakes, and Kerb Weight

The F 450 RR rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends. The suspension setup includes a 43mm KYB upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock. Rear suspension has rebound and preload adjustment as standard, while the Exclusive variant also gets rebound and compression adjustment for the front fork.
Braking setup includes a 310mm disc at the front with a Brembo four-piston monobloc caliper. The rear features a 240mm disc and ByBre caliper. The base variant has a kerb weight of 177kg, which is an important figure to understand this motorcycle’s overall hardware package.

Seat height is 790mm as standard. BMW also offers two optional seat configurations, which can increase the seat height to 810mm or decrease it to 775mm. This gives riders with different heights and riding preferences the option to choose a setup that suits them.
BMW F 450 RR Features and Rider Aids
All variants of the BMW F 450 RR come with a 6.5-inch TFT instrument display, smartphone connectivity, and three ride modes: Rain, Road, and Race. The Safety package includes dual-channel ABS and lean-sensitive ABS. These features are designed to support the rider during both everyday and spirited riding.
The top-spec M Sport with Innovation Package includes ERC, or Easy Ride Clutch. This is BMW’s clutchless riding system, which the company also introduced on the F 450 GS. The technology aims to simplify clutch operation, although its exact working details and market-specific availability will require further information.

BMW F 450 RR Variants and Colors

The BMW F 450 RR is offered in four variants. The main differences between these variants relate to color, suspension adjustability, and additional rider technology.
- Base: Cosmic Black colour, standard suspension setup and core rider aids.
- Exclusive: Racing Red colour, bi-directional quickshifter and adjustable front suspension.
- M Sport: Snaefell White/M Motorsport color scheme and additional Race Pro ride mode, which adds rider customisation.
- M Sport with Innovation Package: Top variant, which also includes Easy Ride Clutch technology.
This way buyers get options ranging from standard sportbike setup to more configurable, technology-focused packages.
BMW F 450 RR India Launch and Expected Price
BMW Motorrad has not yet officially confirmed the F 450 RR’s India launch or pricing. Therefore, it’s not advisable to take any specific launch date or expected price as confirmed information at this time.
For reference, the BMW F 450 GS Base price in India starts at Rs. 4.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Only after pricing for the F 450 R and F 450 RR is announced will it become clear how the company positions these models relative to each other. The F 450 RR’s full-fairing design and additional equipment distinguish it from the F 450 R, but final price positioning is currently unknown.
BMW already has a TVS-manufactured sportbike called the G 310 RR. If the F 450 RR launches in the Indian market, it could expand the lineup with a higher-capacity twin-cylinder option. However, no confirmed conclusions can be drawn yet on the future of the G 310 RR and the availability of the F 450 RR in India.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The biggest highlight of the BMW F 450 RR is its 420cc twin-cylinder engine, which produces 48 hp and 43 Nm. Full fairing, 17-inch wheels, adjustable suspension options, a quickshifter, and multiple rider modes make it a dedicated sportbike package rather than just a cosmetic update.
The most important thing for Indian buyers right now is that launch and pricing haven’t been confirmed. If BMW does bring it to India, the final appeal will depend on price, equipment, and local-market specifications. Until then, the F 450 RR should be viewed as a revealed international model, not a confirmed India launch.
