Hyundai has unveiled the Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome, a new special edition of its performance sedan. The company has given its aggressive styling a more restrained look, with a focus on monochromatic design, carbon-fibre components and Alcantara interior highlights.
Hyundai says that this edition has been developed keeping in mind the demand of those customers who prefer comparatively subtle styling with a performance-oriented car.

The design of Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome is based on the concept “Understated Yet Undeniable”. This means that the performance character of the car should be maintained, but instead of contrasting colours and excessive visual highlights on the exterior, importance should be given to the materials, textures and body design. Hyundai has also linked it to its motorsport heritage and the character of the N performance brand.
The company is planning to launch this special edition in South Korea, Canada, and Australia. Sales in South Korea are scheduled to begin in the last week of October, while market-specific details for Canada and Australia will be announced later. Hyundai has also mentioned the possibility of expansion into other global markets.

What’s special about the Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome?

The Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome features a monochromatic theme on the exterior and selected interior components. This gives the car’s overall styling a more cohesive and understated look. Additionally, new forged wheels and revised exterior detailing distinguish it from the standard Elantra N.
This special edition features revised details on the front and rear bumpers, side sills, brake calipers, and rear diffuser. A carbon-fiber rear spoiler and mirrors also highlight its sporty character. Hyundai has also used a black-themed finish and Alcantara materials in the cabin.
The buttons on the Monochrome-specific Alcantara steering wheel are also finished in black. The company’s focus is not just on cosmetic changes, but on giving the car a distinctive performance-oriented identity through materials and detailing.
Special Edition Available in Two Color Options

The Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome will be offered in Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue color options. The availability of these colors may vary depending on the market.
Hyundai has introduced two trim configurations for this edition. The Basic trim will feature a black-themed design and Alcantara interior materials. Upper trims will include an additional carbon-fiber rear spoiler and carbon-fiber mirrors.
This way, buyers can choose between a relatively understated configuration or a version with additional carbon-fiber elements, depending on their preference. Final details on market-wise equipment and availability will be revealed at the time of the local launch.

Design Inspired by the Hyundai N’s Motorsport Heritage

The main idea behind the Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome is to present the Hyundai N’s performance-focused character in a mature design language. According to the company, the monochromatic treatment reduces the car’s color contrast, making its shape, proportions, textures, and performance-oriented details more prominent.
There are three key ideas behind this design approach: visual restraint and maturity, representing the Elantra N’s development journey, and focusing on driving enjoyment. Hyundai is not just positioning it as a luxury-inspired look, but also trying to give a different visual expression to the N brand’s motorsport roots.

However, the press release does not mention any mechanical upgrades to the engine, power output, acceleration, or chassis setup. Therefore, for now, the Elantra N Monochrome should primarily be understood as a design and interior-focused special edition.
Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome Launch Timeline

Hyundai plans to begin sales of the Elantra N Monochrome in South Korea in the last week of October 2026. Exact launch dates, pricing, and specifications for Canada and Australia have not yet been announced.
The company has also indicated the possibility of introducing it in other global markets, but there is no confirmation yet on an India launch. Pricing, production volume, and market-specific equipment details will be shared later in different regions.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome could appeal to buyers who want the aggressive character of a performance sedan but prefer more restrained styling. Carbon-fibre exterior components, forged wheels and an Alcantara interior set it apart from the standard visual treatment.
Hyundai has not yet confirmed mechanical upgrades, so the main focus of this edition is on design personalisation and premium materials. Sales are planned to begin in South Korea from the last week of October, while pricing and availability in other markets are awaited.
