Now that the launch price has been revealed, it’s easier for buyers to understand its overall positioning.

2026 Hyundai Bayon Price in India

The Hyundai Bayon’s introductory starting price is Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV’s main attraction at this price point is its technology package, which includes features like a dual-screen dashboard, a connected cockpit, and a generative AI-based voice assistant.
Bookings were already open for an initial amount of Rs. 11,000 through Hyundai’s official website and authorized dealerships. The company stated that deliveries would begin during the festive season, with detailed delivery timelines to be communicated at the time of launch.
Variant-wise pricing, the exact price of the automatic transmission, and the availability of features available in each variant should be verified from the final price list. Buyers should confirm the applicable variant, waiting period, and offer conditions with the dealership before booking.
Engine and Transmission: 1.5-Liter Petrol with Manual and iVT
The 2026 Hyundai Bayon is powered by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder MPi naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces 115 PS of maximum power and 143.8 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox and an Intelligent Variable Transmission (iVT).
According to Hyundai, the company has sold over 600,000 vehicles equipped with this engine in India since 2020. This helps to understand the existing Indian-market experience of the powertrain, although the Bayon’s real-world fuel efficiency and performance can only be assessed after a road test.
For buyers who choose the automatic transmission, the IVT also comes with some additional driving technologies. These include Dash Boost Mode, Sporty Drive Tech, and paddle shifters.
Dash Boost Mode and Three Drive Modes
Dash Boost Mode has been developed to sharpen acceleration response during overtaking. Sporty Drive Tech aims to make the acceleration experience more responsive and engaging.
The Bayon also offers Eco, Normal, and Sport drive modes. Eco mode is designed for efficiency-focused driving, Normal mode for everyday use, and Sport mode for comparatively sharper response. Paddle shifters provide additional flexibility to control transmission response from the steering wheel.

2026 Hyundai Bayon Interior: Dual 12.3-Inch Screens

The most noticeable highlight of the cabin is its dual-screen dashboard. The Hyundai Bayon features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. Together, the two screens create a wide digital cockpit experience.
The SUV also features NVIDIA-powered Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC). This system includes functions like online navigation, split-screen support, personalized settings, and quick-access menus. Over 70 connected features are also offered through Hyundai Bluelink, while the company also highlighted the provision of over-the-air software updates for vehicle controllers.
The practical benefit of this is that drivers receive navigation and infotainment information in a modern interface. Over-the-air updates can enable future software enhancements without a dealership visit, where supported updates are available.
Generative AI Voice Assistant: Perplexity and SoundHound AI
A major highlight of the Hyundai Bayon’s technology list is its generative AI-powered voice assistant. This is Hyundai Motor India’s first generative AI voice assistant, combining Perplexity’s AI capabilities and SoundHound AI’s voice technology.
The system can handle conversational queries on topics such as weather, travel plans, hotels, restaurants, and nearby places of interest. Its objective is to provide natural language interaction beyond traditional fixed voice commands.
Hyundai also mentioned a multi-language user interface for the infotainment and instrument cluster, which supports 10 regional and two international languages. Support for over 500 embedded voice commands in English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, and Hinglish is also highlighted.
Actual usability will depend on connectivity, supported commands, and software availability, but voice-based interaction could be a useful convenience feature for Indian buyers.
Safety Features: Level 2 Pro ADAS and Six Airbags
Safety is another important focus of the Hyundai Bayon. The SUV is based on the Global K Enhanced Platform and its body structure uses 69% Advanced Multi-Grade High-Strength Steel, according to the company.
The Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS package offers 23 driver-assistance functions. These include systems such as Forward Collision Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Lane Following Assist.
Additional equipment includes a surround-view monitor, blind-spot view monitor, hill-start assist control, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, and six airbags. Hyundai also claims to offer more than 35 safety features as standard across variants.
It’s worth noting that Hyundai’s “engineered for 5-star Indian safety standards” statement does not automatically imply a confirmed five-star rating from Bharat NCAP or any other independent crash-test agency. Buyers should check the official crash-test results separately when they become available.
2026 Hyundai Bayon Exterior Colors & Ownership Benefits

The 2026 Hyundai Bayon will be offered in 10 exterior color options. These include monotone colors such as Titanium Black, Classy Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Golden Bronze, and Ecotronic Grey. Dual-tone options include Atlas White with Black Roof and Fiery Red with Black Roof, while Titanium Black Matte and Classy Blue Matte are matte finishes.
At the launch event, the company also highlighted ownership packages. These include an up to seven-year extended warranty, up to 15-year roadside assistance, an up to five-year Shield of Trust Running Repair Package, and an up to five-year Shield of Trust Super Maintenance Package. A Shield of Trust Bodycare package is also listed. Eligibility, pricing, and terms and conditions for these offers must be confirmed with the dealership.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The 2026 Hyundai Bayon Rs. 9.99 lakh starting price makes it an interesting option for buyers who want an SUV body style along with modern cabin technology and advanced safety features. Dual 12.3-inch displays, AI voice assistant and Level 2 Pro ADAS are its key talking points, while the 1.5-litre petrol engine and manual/IVT options focus on everyday usability.
But before making a final buying decision, it’s important to understand the variant-wise feature distribution, automatic variant pricing, real-world mileage and ownership package conditions. The real value of the Bayon will be determined not just by the technology list, but by how many important features Hyundai offers as standard at the entry-level price.
