Kawasaki is preparing to take its future mobility technology to a new level. The company will showcase a full-scale mock-up of its unusual robotic mobility concept, Kawasaki CORLEO, at EICMA 2026.
It’s not a conventional motorcycle or four-wheeler, but a Robotic Multi-legged Vehicle (RMV) that uses four independently moving robotic legs instead of wheels.

According to an announcement from Kawasaki Motors Europe, CORLEO will be displayed at the EICMA show in Milan from November 5 to 8, 2026. Visitors will be able to view the full-scale mock-up and experience the vehicle’s actual dimensions at the company’s Booth N46, Hall 11.
CORLEO is part of Kawasaki’s SAFE ADVENTURE concept, which aims to develop safer and more controlled personal mobility in challenging mountainous terrain. The company has set a target for commercialization of this project around 2035.

Kawasaki CORLEO: Four Robotic Legs Instead of Wheels

The most distinctive feature of the Kawasaki CORLEO is its four-legged robotic architecture. Conventional motorcycles and off-road vehicles tackle uneven surfaces with wheels and tires, but CORLEO takes a different approach with robotic legs.
According to Kawasaki, this concept combines the off-road capability of four-legged robotics with the maneuverability and stability developed from motorcycle engineering. Its objective is to make movement on challenging terrain more controlled and intuitive.
India Kawasaki Motors also highlighted the CORLEO concept, stating that the vehicle is controlled through the rider’s body movements and weight shifts. Its independently moving rear legs help absorb shocks on uneven surfaces.
Thus, the Kawasaki CORLEO riding experience will be quite different from traditional motorcycle handlebar and throttle controls. Kawasaki wants to create an intuitive control experience similar to horseback riding, where the rider guides the vehicle through body weight and movement.
150cc Hydrogen Engine Powers the CORLEO Concept

The Kawasaki CORLEO powertrain also makes this concept interesting. The company has equipped it with a 150cc hydrogen engine, which generates electricity. Hydrogen is stored in canisters positioned in the rear section of the vehicle.
This setup differs from traditional petrol-powered motorcycles, as the hydrogen engine’s role is to generate electricity. Kawasaki has not yet disclosed the concept’s detailed power output, battery capacity, riding range, or top speed.
The use of a hydrogen-based energy system aligns with the Kawasaki Group’s broader carbon-neutral mobility ambitions. The company is exploring the possibility of making hydrogen-powered personal mobility more familiar in the future through CORLEO.

Rider Weight-Shift Control and Off-Road Capability
Kawasaki CORLEO control system is one of its most interesting engineering aspects. Kawasaki developed the vehicle to operate according to the rider’s weight-shift inputs. The experience is inspired by horseback riding.

Four robotic legs are designed for movement and stability on uneven terrain. According to a description from India Kawasaki Motors, the rear legs can move independently, helping to absorb shocks on rough surfaces.
Kawasaki’s aim is to develop a personal mobility vehicle that offers a combination of terrain-handling performance, stability, and rider control. However, the company has not yet revealed technical figures such as maximum climbing angle, obstacle-crossing capability, or operating speed.
Kawasaki Is Also Developing a Dedicated Navigation System
Kawasaki is also developing a dedicated navigation system for Kawasaki CORLEO. This system is designed to guide riders to safer routes by detecting weather, temperature, surface conditions, and the presence of wildlife.
Navigation information will also be available on smart devices compatible with CORLEO’s instrument panel. Its objective is not only to reach a destination, but also to identify potentially risky routes and environmental conditions in mountainous areas.

This approach is an important part of Kawasaki’s SAFE ADVENTURE philosophy. The company wants people to explore mountainous areas safely and in harmony with nature.
Kawasaki CORLEO Project Targets Commercialization Around 2035
Kawasaki considers the CORLEO project a significant research and development program for the company. The project is led by the SAFE ADVENTURE Business Development Team, reporting directly to the President of Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
CORLEO aligns with three major focus areas of Kawasaki Group Vision 2030:
- Safe and Secure Remotely Connected Society
- Near-Future Mobility
- Energy and Environmental Solutions
The company has set a target for commercialization of Kawasaki CORLEO by approximately 2035. This means that the full-scale mock-up to be showcased at EICMA 2026 is currently part of a future mobility project, not an immediately available production vehicle.
According to Shigemi Tanaka, Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Europe, CORLEO showcases the company’s technical, industrial, and environmental expertise. He cited it as an example of the company’s ambition to combine a carbon-neutral future and personal freedom.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The Kawasaki CORLEO is set to be one of the most unconventional mobility showcases at EICMA 2026. Four robotic legs, rider weight-shift control, and a 150cc hydrogen engine that generates electricity make it quite different from conventional motorcycle technology.
The real significance of this project is that Kawasaki sees future off-road mobility as not limited to just wheels and traditional powertrains. The commercialization target of around 2035 is still a long way off, and several engineering challenges will need to be solved to reach production-ready technology. But CORLEO definitely shows how different future personal mobility can be.
