The month of July 2026 was a historic one for TVS Motor. The company sold 52,108 units, driven by increased demand for its electric scooter portfolio, particularly the TVS iQube and TVS Orbiter. Last year, in July 2025, the company sold only 23,592 units. This represents a 121% growth in a single year.
This also marked TVS’s highest monthly electric scooter sales to date. Previously, in March 2026, the company sold 51,632 units, which was broken in July 2026.

Explosive Demand in the Electric Scooter Market
Not just TVS, but the overall electric scooter sales market was also quite strong in July 2026. Top brands together sold 191,949 electric two-wheelers in July 2026. This is the third-highest monthly sales figure for India’s EV industry.
Prior to this, 199,411 units were sold in March 2026 and 194,938 units in June 2026. This data clearly shows that demand for electric scooters is continuously increasing and customer confidence in the EV segment has already strengthened.
Sales picked up in the second half of the month
In the first 15 days of July, companies together sold only 88,911 units. However, demand increased rapidly in the second half of the month, and over 100,000 electric scooters were sold in the last two weeks.
This trend suggests that festive shopping, dealership deliveries, and customer demand significantly boosted sales by the end of the month.
Bajaj Chetak also maintained a strong position

Bajaj Auto ranked second in the electric scooter segment. The company sold 43,224 Bajaj Chetak scooters in July 2026. This represents a growth of 110% compared to the previous year.
Bajaj is steadily strengthening its foothold in the EV market thanks to the Chetak’s premium positioning and expanding dealership network.
Ather Energy and Vida also performed strongly

Ather Energy sold 28,596 electric scooters in July 2026, achieving 60% year-on-year growth. The company maintains a strong presence in the premium electric scooter segment.
Hero MotoCorp’s Vida also performed well, registering sales of 20,934 units. Vida sales saw 93% year-on-year growth, which is being considered a positive sign for Hero’s EV business.

Ola Electric Sales Decline
July 2026 wasn’t so good for Ola Electric, once the leader in the electric scooter market. The company sold only 13,113 units, registering a 29% year-on-year decline in sales.
Increasing market competition and the aggressive growth of other brands are impacting Ola’s market position.
Which Direction is the Electric Scooter Market Heading?
July 2026 sales numbers clearly show that India’s electric scooter market is no longer just an emerging segment. The strong growth of brands like TVS, Bajaj, Ather, and Vida indicates that customers are rapidly adopting electric mobility.
Competition in the electric scooter segment is expected to intensify in the coming months with new products, better charging infrastructure, and government support.
Auto India Daily Analysis
Electric Scooter Sales July 2026 clearly indicate that India’s EV market is now moving towards a maturity phase. While Ola Electric was previously considered the undisputed leader in this segment, competition has now intensified.
TVS Motor has changed the market dynamics by securing the top position with 52,108 units and 121% YoY growth, while the Bajaj Chetak is also steadily strengthening its hold.
Most interestingly, the top five brands together sold approximately 1.92 lakh electric scooters, indicating that customers are no longer dependent on just one brand. The demand for electric scooters is rapidly increasing due to better products, charging infrastructure and attractive financing options.
If the festive season demand continues at this level in the coming months, 2026 could prove to be a record-breaking year for India’s electric scooter industry.
TVS and Bajaj are currently seen in momentum, while Ola Electric will need an aggressive strategy and new products to regain its market position. Overall, Electric Scooter Sales July 2026 shows that EV adoption is no longer just a trend, but has become the future of the Indian automobile industry.
