The current average is also significantly higher than it was a year ago, with prices roughly 81 cents more expensive than the same period last year.

Florida Gas Prices Remain Stable Despite Energy Market Volatility
According to AAA – The Auto Club Group, Florida’s average gas price has fluctuated from week to week but has stayed around $3.92 per gallon over the past 45 days.
The stability comes despite volatility in global energy markets linked to the Iran War. However, AAA does not expect the current fuel prices to significantly discourage Floridians from traveling during the holiday weekend.
“Many Floridians have been paying around the same price for gas throughout the summer, so there isn’t a lot of sticker shock heading into the holiday weekend,” AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said.
He added that people who have already planned Labor Day getaways are generally still expected to take their trips.

Drivers looking to save money can find considerably lower prices in parts of northwest Florida.
The least expensive metro markets include:
- Panama City: $3.69 per gallon
- Pensacola: $3.70 per gallon
- Crestview-Fort Walton Beach: $3.72 per gallon
That creates a gap of nearly 40 cents per gallon between Panama City and some of the state’s most expensive markets.

Florida isn’t alone in dealing with higher fuel costs. The national average for regular gasoline stood at $4.08 per gallon on Monday, putting additional pressure on Americans planning road trips over the Labor Day holiday.
