2027 Ducati Diavel V4 S Confirmed With a Big Suspension Upgrade

The 2027 Ducati Diavel V4 S is no longer just speculation. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has officially listed the Ducati Diavel V4 S as a 2027 model in updated certification documents.

According to Motorcycle.com, Ducati previously included the base version of the 2027 Diavel V4, along with Bentley and Bentley Mulliner limited-edition variants, in CARB certification. Now, on August 26, 2026, CARB issued an updated executive order, adding the Diavel V4 S to this certification.

The Ducati Diavel V4 S will feature electronic suspension

The biggest expected upgrade for the 2027 Ducati Diavel V4 S could be its suspension setup.

Earlier design filings showed wiring leads near the front fork tubes. Motorcycle.com, after reviewing these details, suggested that the bike could be equipped with an electronically controlled suspension system.

Now, CARB certification further strengthens this possibility.

The Diavel V4 S is expected to feature Ducati’s Skyhook-based electronic suspension setup, a similar approach to the one used on the Multistrada V4 S.

This means that the suspension can be electronically adjusted according to riding conditions and the selected riding mode.

Styling Changes Will Also Occur

The new Diavel V4 S won’t be limited to suspension upgrades.

According to design filings, Ducati has also made some changes to the bike’s styling. The most noticeable update is expected to be in the air intake design, which could receive a treatment inspired by the Diavel V4 RS.

The radiator shrouds have also been modified. This could alter the flow of hot air escaping the radiator.

An additional bodywork piece has also been spotted on the right side of the forward cylinder bank. According to sources, its purpose may be to protect exposed wiring from redirected hot air.

New Wheels and Exhaust System

A new cast wheel design is also expected for the 2027 Ducati Diavel V4 S.

Changes have also been made to the exhaust system. However, despite the exhaust update, no major changes are expected in the engine’s core performance figures.

The current Ducati Diavel V4’s 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine produces 168 hp at 10,750 rpm and 126 Nm (93 lb-ft) at 7,500 rpm. Ducati’s official India website also lists 168 hp and 126 Nm for the current Diavel V4.

Therefore, it would not be correct to assume a significantly higher power figure for the 2027 Diavel V4 S at this time.

Riding Modes May Be Updated

Ducati may make changes to the riding modes and suspension management software to support the electronic suspension.

According to Motorcycle.com, ride modes are expected to be updated to work properly with the Skyhook suspension. However, confirmation of what other changes will occur to the bike’s electronics package is not yet available.

The current Diavel V4 already offers features such as riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Wheelie Control, launch control, cruise control, and a bidirectional quickshifter.

When will the 2027 Ducati Diavel V4 S be revealed?

Ducati has not yet announced an official reveal date for the Diavel V4 S.

However, a 2027 model-year debut seems quite likely after CARB certification. Ducati’s 2027 World Premiere series is already showcasing upcoming new models, so the Diavel V4 S could also be part of this event series.

The exact reveal date, pricing, and India launch details are not yet confirmed.

Auto India Daily Verdict

The 2027 Ducati Diavel V4 S could be an interesting upgrade to Ducati’s Diavel lineup. CARB certification has confirmed that the S variant has entered the certification process for the 2027 model year, while electronic suspension and styling changes could make this version more premium than the standard Diavel V4.

The most important point is that Ducati has not yet officially unveiled the Diavel V4 S. Therefore, the Skyhook suspension, precise electronics, and final styling should only be considered expected specifications.

The current Diavel V4’s 168-hp, 1,158cc V4 engine already offers strong performance, so Ducati’s focus in the S variant could be on better suspension control, sharper handling and premium hardware rather than just extra power.
