KTM has officially unveiled its new-generation 2027 KTM 690 Rally. The motorcycle takes the brand’s 690 platform into a serious long-distance rally-adventure format, focusing on high-speed off-road capability with a lightweight construction.
KTM is positioning the new 690 Rally as a modern spiritual successor to its older 640 Adventure. The motorcycle features a 692.7cc LC4 engine, fully adjustable WP suspension, 20-litre fuel capacity and dedicated rally electronics.

79PS LC4 Engine with 15,000km Service Interval
The 2027 KTM 690 Rally is powered by KTM’s latest-generation 692.7cc LC4 single-cylinder engine.
Power output is 79PS and maximum torque is 73Nm, while a six-speed gearbox handles transmission duties. KTM has tuned the engine for long-distance adventure riding and demanding off-road conditions.
An interesting highlight of the engine is its 15,000km service interval, which could make ownership more convenient for long-distance riders.
20-Litre Fuel Tank for Long-Distance Riding
The 2027 KTM 690 Rally’s fuel capacity is significantly higher than the standard 690 platform.
KTM has provided a total fuel capacity of 20 liters in the motorcycle. This includes a rear-mounted 13-liter tank and two additional 3.5-liter tanks in the front section.
The front tanks are positioned within a rally-style tower with an integrated windscreen. This setup aims to increase fuel range while providing the rider with better wind protection during high-speed sections.
Dedicated Rally Mode and Off-Road ABS
The electronics package also supports the motorcycle’s rally-focused character.
The bike features a 4.2-inch TFT display and a dedicated Rally ride mode. Through Rally mode, the rider can adjust traction control and throttle response to suit different terrain.
Off-road ABS is also part of the standard package. The rider can independently disable rear-wheel ABS or completely disable it via a dedicated button.
Brembo Brakes and Quickshifter+
Braking hardware includes a 300mm disc with a Brembo two-piston caliper on the front, while the rear wheel gets a 240mm disc and a single-piston caliper.
The hydraulic clutch system is integrated with the KTM Quickshifter+. This means the rider can perform upshifts and downshifts without using the clutch.
The lighting setup uses LED units inspired by the KTM 450 Rally Replica.

Fully Adjustable WP XPLOR Suspension
The 2027 KTM 690 Rally chassis has been developed for serious off-road use.
Fully adjustable WP XPLOR suspension is provided on both the front and rear ends. The motorcycle has 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, paired with Mitas E07 tires.
Seat height is 910mm. KTM has developed the riding position such that the rider can easily move between seated and standing positions.
Only 161.5kg Without Fuel
Weight is an important factor for a rally-adventure motorcycle, and KTM has achieved a fairly aggressive figure here.
The claimed weight of the 2027 KTM 690 Rally is 161.5kg without fuel. The combination of a powerful single-cylinder engine and long-travel suspension, along with lightweight construction, makes it relatively agile on technical trails.
Modern Successor of the 640 Adventure
The new 2027 KTM 690 Rally also has a connection to KTM’s adventure-bike history.
The original KTM 640 Adventure was in production between 1997 and 2007 and came with a 625cc single-cylinder engine. The new 690 Rally revives that concept with the modern LC4 engine, advanced electronics, and a proper rally chassis.
The LC4 platform also has a long history, with roots dating back to the late 1980s. This engine family also played an important role in KTM’s Dakar racing program.
Production and Availability
According to KTM, production of the 2027 KTM 690 Rally will begin in Austria in September 2026.
The motorcycle is expected to arrive at authorized KTM dealers from October 2026. UK pricing has not yet been announced.
KTM is also offering a Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty with the street-legal range, which can provide up to four years of coverage, provided servicing is maintained within the authorized KTM dealer network.

The 2027 KTM 690 Rally is an interesting proposition for riders who want more serious off-road capability than a conventional adventure bike. The 161.5kg weight, 79PS LC4 engine, 20-litre fuel capacity, adjustable WP XPLOR suspension and Rally-specific electronics make it a proper long-distance rally-adventure machine.
Its biggest attraction is that KTM has tried to add long-distance touring capability without sacrificing lightweight enduro character. If pricing is kept competitive, the 690 Rally could become a genuinely unique motorcycle in KTM’s global adventure portfolio.
