Triumph Motorcycles has introduced a new colour option for the Triumph Scrambler 400 X in India. The 2027 model-year motorcycle now gets a Matt Pewter Grey and Matt Khaki Green paint scheme, giving the scrambler a more understated and rugged appearance.

New Grey Colour Gives Scrambler 400 X a Rugged Look
The new colour combination uses a Matt Pewter Grey finish on the fuel tank with a distinctive Matt Khaki Green band running through the centre. The rest of the bodywork and mudguards are finished in Phantom Black, creating a darker overall appearance.
Compared with the existing colour options, this new combination gives the Scrambler 400 X a more subdued look while retaining its characteristic modern-classic styling.
Triumph says the new paint scheme has been designed to reinforce the motorcycle’s rugged scrambler character and adventurous personality.
The new colour also gets black mudguards at both ends, which further complements the darker theme of the motorcycle.

No Mechanical Changes
Apart from the new colour, there are no mechanical changes to the Triumph Scrambler 400 X.
The motorcycle continues to use Triumph’s 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder TR-Series engine, which produces around 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle continues with its long-travel suspension setup, including an inverted front fork and rear monoshock. It also rides on a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel, wrapped in dual-purpose tyres.
This setup gives the Scrambler 400 X its characteristic upright riding position and mild off-road capability.
Features Continue To Remain The Same
The new colour does not bring any major equipment changes either. The Scrambler 400 X continues with features such as LED lighting, ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control and switchable dual-channel ABS.
The motorcycle also retains its semi-digital instrument cluster and familiar modern-classic design.
So, buyers choosing the new grey colour are essentially getting the same motorcycle mechanically, but with a fresh visual treatment.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X Price in India
The new Matte Pewter Grey and Matte Khaki Green colour is priced in line with the existing Scrambler 400 X range. The motorcycle is currently listed at around Rs. 2.65 lakh ex-showroom in India.
Triumph had originally launched the Scrambler 400 X in India at Rs. 2,62,996 in 2023, before subsequent price revisions.
Rivals
The Triumph Scrambler 400 X continues to compete in the modern-classic and scrambler motorcycle space against models such as the Yezdi Scrambler 350 and Royal Enfield Scram 440.
With the new grey and khaki colour scheme, Triumph is essentially giving buyers another styling choice rather than introducing a mechanical update.

The new Matt Pewter Grey and Matt Khaki Green paint scheme suits the Scrambler 400 X’s rugged design well. The darker mudguards and khaki tank band also give the motorcycle a distinct appearance without changing its core styling.
Since there are no mechanical or feature upgrades, the biggest reason to choose this new version will simply be its updated colour combination.
