Ford has unveiled its popular pickup truck, the 2027 Ford F-150, for the 2027 model year, with several significant updates.
The biggest mechanical change this time around is the new 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which will replace the outgoing 2.7-liter EcoBoost.

Ford has also expanded the availability of the 5.0-liter V8, while the F-150 lineup also receives updated styling, a new Carhartt package, and BlueCruise hands-free driving capability with trailer towing.

2027 Ford F-150: What’s New?
Changes to the 2027 Ford F-150 aren’t limited to cosmetic updates. Ford has also made changes to the powertrain lineup, driver-assistance technology and trim strategy.

The biggest mechanical change for the 2027 Ford F-150 is the replacement of the 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6.
Ford has introduced a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 as the new base engine. Interestingly, peak output remains at 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, so the engine doesn’t offer a headline increase in maximum power.
The real difference is in how the torque is delivered. The new 3.0-litre engine produces its peak torque at a lower engine speed, giving the truck a stronger response in the rpm range that drivers commonly use. Ford says this should translate into a more confident everyday driving experience.
BlueCruise Can Now Tow a Trailer Hands-Free
One of the most interesting technology updates is the expansion of Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving system.
For 2027, BlueCruise-equipped F-150 models can use the system while towing a trailer on compatible pre-qualified divided highways. Ford says the feature works across more than 130,000 miles of mapped Blue Zones in the US.
The system can manage steering, speed and following distance while the trailer is connected. A trailer profile is required, allowing the system to account for factors such as trailer weight and sway behavior.
However, this doesn’t turn the F-150 into a fully autonomous truck. Drivers still need to remain attentive and be ready to take control.
5.0-Litre V8 Now Available Across the F-150 Range
For V8 fans, Ford has made another major change.
The naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 is now available on the King Ranch and Platinum trims. Earlier, these higher-end variants were offered with the 3.5-litre EcoBoost and PowerBoost options instead.
With the expansion, the 5.0-litre V8 is now available across the F-150 lineup, from the entry-level XL through the luxury-oriented Platinum, depending on configuration. The engine produces 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque.
This is particularly significant because the 5.0-litre V8 had previously disappeared from King Ranch and Platinum availability after the 2023 model year.
Other Engines Continue
Ford hasn’t completely reshuffled the F-150 powertrain lineup.
The 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 continues to be offered, while the 3.5-litre PowerBoost hybrid also remains available. The PowerBoost combines the 3.5-liter EcoBoost with an electric motor and produces up to 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque.
The performance-focused Raptor continues with its high-output 3.5-litre EcoBoost, while the range-topping Raptor R retains its supercharged 5.2-litre V8.

New Carhartt Edition Joins the Lineup
The 2027 Ford F-150 also gets a new Carhartt package, following the two companies’ earlier collaboration on the Super Duty.
The package is available on the 4×4 XLT Crew Cab and costs an additional $4,195. It brings several exterior and interior changes designed around Carhartt’s workwear-inspired identity.
Outside, the F-150 Carhartt gets unique 20-inch wheels, Carhartt graphics and branding, special trim details and a spray-in bedliner with Carhartt branding.
Inside, the pickup features a two-tone cloth interior, Carhartt-inspired upholstery, embroidered logos and tan accent stitching.
Ford has already opened orders for the Carhartt model, with deliveries expected to begin early in 2027.
2027 Ford F-150 Gets Subtle Styling Changes
Ford has also made some visual changes for 2027.
The XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum trims receive redesigned grille and wheel designs. The updates aren’t a complete redesign, but they give the pickup a slightly refreshed appearance.
The XLT gets a simpler split-bar grille treatment, while the Lariat receives a more detailed grille design. King Ranch and Platinum also receive their own updated styling elements and wheel options.
New Tremor Low and Raptor Low Variants
Ford is also introducing lower-priced versions of two of its popular off-road F-150 variants.
The Tremor Low and Raptor Low trims remove some premium equipment in exchange for a lower entry price.
On the Tremor Low, features such as heated front seats, upgraded audio and certain convenience features are removed. The Raptor Low similarly drops selected premium equipment, including some cabin and technology features.
The idea is straightforward: give buyers access to the core off-road hardware without forcing them to pay for every luxury feature.
2027 Ford F-150 Price
The 2027 Ford F-150 lineup starts at $42,630 including the $2,795 destination charge for the entry-level XL configuration, according to current reporting.
The Platinum starts at around $71,595, while the Carhartt package adds $4,195 to the eligible XLT 4×4 Crew Cab configuration.
The prices can vary significantly depending on cab configuration, drivetrain, packages and optional equipment.

When Will the 2027 Ford F-150 Arrive?
Ford has started taking orders for the new F-150 Carhartt, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2027. The broader 2027 F-150 lineup is expected to reach dealerships around the same period as production rolls out.
India Launch: Will the F-150 Come to India?
For Indian buyers, there’s no confirmed plan for the 2027 Ford F-150 to launch through Ford’s regular India lineup.
The F-150 remains primarily focused on markets such as the US, where full-size pickup trucks have a much stronger customer base. Its size, powertrain options and positioning also make it very different from the pickup products currently sold in India.
So, for now, the 2027 Ford F-150 is best viewed as a global-market pickup update rather than an upcoming India launch.

The 2027 Ford F-150 isn’t an all-new generation, but Ford has made some smart changes to keep the pickup competitive.
The new 3.0-litre EcoBoost brings the same peak output as the outgoing 2.7-litre engine but aims to deliver stronger low- and mid-range response. Meanwhile, bringing the 5.0-litre V8 back to King Ranch and Platinum gives buyers more choice at the top end.
But the BlueCruise towing capability could be the most useful everyday upgrade. Add the new Carhartt edition and lower-priced Tremor and Raptor variants, and Ford has given the F-150 lineup considerably more variety for 2027.
The bigger question will be how long this updated generation remains in the market before Ford introduces the next major F-150 redesign.
