The 2027 Mahindra Scorpio-N has once again been spotted testing in Ladakh with heavy camouflage. The front end of the latest test mule looks noticeably different from the current SUV, and its design could be inspired by the recently unveiled Scorpio Lifestyler pickup.
This development is interesting because Mahindra has hinted at a Lifestyler-inspired design direction for future models in the Scorpio family.

The front section is heavily camouflaged in test mule images, so the exact design of the production-spec lighting and grille is not yet confirmed.

New 2027 Mahindra Scorpio-N Front Design Will Change
The front fascia of the latest prototype suggests a different treatment from the current Scorpio-N. The test vehicle used temporary circular headlamps, which are commonly seen on development vehicles to hide the final lighting elements of the production model.
According to reports, the production version could feature a revised grille, bumper, LED headlamps, and DRLs. The Lifestyler pickup’s upright and tougher design cues are likely to be adapted into the SUV’s front-end.
Side Profile Expected to Remain Mostly Same

Spy shots show the Scorpio-N’s familiar boxy silhouette largely unchanged. The upright stance, doors, and window line appear close to the current model.
The test mule is running on steel wheels, while the production version is expected to feature redesigned alloy wheels. The rear section is currently under camouflage, so it’s not possible to confirm changes to the taillights and bumper.

Major Updates May Also Occur in the Cabin
The Scorpio Lifestyler’s cabin features elements like a new dashboard layout, a portrait-oriented touchscreen, and an updated steering wheel. Mahindra may also use some of these design cues in a future Scorpio-N update.
However, the latest Ladakh spy shots don’t confirm interior changes, so this should only be seen as an expected update for now.
Engine Options Likely Continue

Current reports suggest the existing 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engines will likely continue in the upcoming Scorpio-N update.
The current setup offers manual and automatic gearbox options, while diesel variants are also offered with 4WD on select versions. There is no official confirmation of any major mechanical changes yet.

2027 Mahindra Scorpio-N Launch Expected
Latest reports link this more heavily redesigned Scorpio-N test mule to the 2027 update. Mahindra has not announced the exact launch date.
It’s also important to note that the Scorpio-N facelift was already launched in August 2026, with prices starting at Rs. 13.69 lakh. Therefore, the mule spotted in Ladakh would be considered a future update, separate from the current 2026 facelift.
Auto India Daily Verdict
If Mahindra updates the 2027 Mahindra Scorpio-N with a Lifestyler-inspired, tougher face and a more modern cabin, the SUV’s character could become even more aggressive.
However, these are early-stage test mules, so the final design, features, and launch timeline should not be considered definitive until confirmed.
The most interesting question for current Scorpio-N buyers will be: will it be worth waiting for the 2027 update?
