Mahindra’s upcoming car portfolio is set to be quite interesting over the next two years. While the company is updating existing models like the Thar facelift, it is also working on all-new products like the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, Vision S, and BE.07 electric SUV.

Mahindra has introduced the NU_IQ modular platform for its next-generation SUV strategy, which can support FWD and AWD configurations with petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains.

1. Mahindra Thar Facelift

The Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift is the first model on this list, as its test mule has recently been spied again. Interestingly, this could be a more comprehensive facelift than the 2025 update.

The latest spy shots reveal a revised front fascia. Earlier sightings indicated a new grille design for the Thar facelift, which could be inspired by the six-slat treatment of the Thar Roxx. Changes are also expected to the front bumper and lighting elements.

These updates may not be solely cosmetic. The cabin is also likely to receive additional equipment and feature upgrades, although Mahindra has not yet revealed the full feature list.

Thar Facelift Launch & Price

Mahindra has not yet announced an official launch date for the facelift. According to the latest spy report, the launch timeline is currently unknown, and the updated model could be slightly more expensive than the current Thar.

The current Thar 3-door is priced around Rs. 10.32 lakh to rs. 18 lakh ex-showroom.

The most interesting new product in Mahindra’s upcoming lineup is the Scorpio Lifestyler. This is the company’s lifestyle pickup truck, which will be launched in India by April 2027.

Mahindra officially unveiled the production-spec Global Pick-Up in August 2026, confirming that it will be launched in India as the Scorpio Lifestyler. The company also confirmed a starting price of less than ₹ 19.79 lakh ex-showroom.

The Scorpio Lifestyler is based on the Scorpio N’s ladder-frame platform, but features a longer wheelbase to accommodate a pickup bed. 4WD capability will also be available, while a RWD configuration is expected in lower variants.

Powertrain details have not yet been fully disclosed. Reports suggest a 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol option, but Mahindra has not yet announced the final Indian engine lineup.

Scorpio Lifestyler’s Competition

In India, it will directly compete with the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. Mahindra’s biggest advantage could be aggressive pricing, as the company has already confirmed a starting price below ₹19.79 lakh.

The Mahindra Vision S is the most important compact SUV in the upcoming lineup. The concept was showcased in August 2025 with the NU_IQ platform, and its production version is expected to launch in 2027.

The Vision S’s biggest highlight will be its compact footprint. Mahindra’s concept dimensions have confirmed a length of less than 4 meters and a wheelbase of 2,665mm. The production model could be positioned above the XUV 3XO.

Recent spy shots have also begun to reveal its production direction. Elements like a boxy silhouette, short overhangs, an upright stance, flush door handles, LED lighting, and a panoramic sunroof have been seen in the testing prototype.

Which engines will be available in the Vision S?

It’s important to proceed with some caution here.

The NU_IQ platform supports petrol, diesel, hybrid, and EV powertrains. Petrol and diesel options are expected for the production Vision S, and the possibility of using the existing powertrains from the 3XO has also been reported.

However, final engine specifications and exact power outputs have not yet been confirmed by Mahindra.

Mahindra’s next major electric SUV will be the BE.07. The company confirmed in February 2026 that its next new EV will launch in 2027, and will be a production version of the BE.07 concept.

The BE.07 will be positioned above the BE 6. The production version will be approximately 4.6 meters long and could compete against models like the Tata Harrier EV and VinFast VF7.

The most interesting development is that a testing prototype of the BE.07 has already been spotted in India. The first test mule was spotted in March 2026, while clearer spy shots of the exterior and interior surfaced in August 2026.

The BE.07 will be based on Mahindra’s INGLO born-electric platform. Battery capacity and range have not yet been officially confirmed, although hardware similarities with the existing Mahindra EV architecture are expected.

BE.07 Price & Launch

Current industry estimates place the BE.07 in the price bracket of around ₹25–30 lakh, with a 2027 launch. The final price will be confirmed after Mahindra’s official launch announcement.

The Mahindra Vision T is the most important preview of the company’s future Thar family. This concept was showcased in August 2025 with the NU_IQ platform.

The Vision T is essentially an evolution of the 2023 Thar.e concept, but has been shifted to the new NU_IQ architecture. The production version is expected to arrive after 2027.

The most interesting engineering detail of the Vision T is that the NU_IQ platform is not restricted to just EVs. The architecture can accommodate petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains and also supports AWD capability.

The production version could be part of the next-generation Thar family, but Mahindra has not yet announced the final name, launch date, or specifications of the production model.

What is Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform?

The core of Upcoming Mahindra Cars strategy is the NU_IQ platform.

The company introduced this modular architecture in August 2025 with the Vision S, Vision X, Vision T, and Vision SXT concepts. According to Mahindra, the platform can support multiple body styles, petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains, along with FWD/AWD and RHD/LHD configurations.

The objective of this architecture is to give Mahindra the flexibility to enter new SUV segments.

According to the company’s official Freedom_NU information, these showcased vehicles are concepts, not production-ready models, and details of production models will be announced closer to launch.

Mahindra’s 2026-31 Product Plan

Mahindra’s future portfolio isn’t limited to just these five models.

According to the current roadmap, the company plans to launch 10 ICE and 6 EV models, a total of 16 new models, by 2031. This includes NU_IQ-based SUVs, along with future EVs and lifecycle updates to existing products.

Therefore, after the Vision S and BE.07, Mahindra’s lineup will see even more new SUVs.
