The Bayon will be launched in India during the festive season, but the exact launch date and price are yet to be announced.
The Hyundai BAYON will be positioned between the Venue and Creta in the company’s India SUV portfolio. The SUV is around 4.2 meters in length and the company is positioning it as an “Intelligent Utility Vehicle.” Its biggest technology highlight is the in-built generative AI voice assistant, which will provide occupants with more natural voice interaction with the vehicle.

Hyundai Bayon Bookings Start: Rs. Reserve your SUV for Rs. 11,000
Hyundai Bayon bookings are now open both online and offline. Interested buyers can book on Hyundai’s official website or reserve the SUV at their nearest authorized Hyundai dealership by paying an initial booking amount of ₹11,000. Hyundai has stated that the delivery timeline will be communicated at the time of launch.
The company has not yet revealed the exact ex-showroom price of the Bayon. The SUV is expected to launch during the festive season, so pricing and variant-wise details are likely to be revealed closer to the launch.
4.2-Meter SUV With Fresh Design
The Hyundai Bayon has been developed with a wide and modern SUV stance. The exterior is highlighted by a sculpted hood, futuristic front fascia, and signature H-Edge LED DRLs.
The SUV will also feature geometric wheel arches, wrap-around door cladding, and bridge-type roof rails. Earlier teasers have also given glimpses of sleek lighting elements and bold proportions. According to Hyundai, the design focus is to combine SUV character with everyday urban usability.
GenAI Voice Assistant Will Be a Major Highlight
The Hyundai Bayon’s most interesting feature will be its built-in generative AI voice assistant. According to Hyundai, the system is designed to make the interaction between driver and vehicle more natural and intuitive.
The company has made this part of BAYON’s “Intelligence That Moves” philosophy. However, Hyundai has not yet provided details on exactly which commands, languages, and connected functions the AI assistant will support in India.

Hyundai also focuses on safety
The Bayon has been developed on Hyundai’s global K Enhanced platform. The company states that the platform has been engineered to target 5-star safety performance in Indian safety standards.
An important clarification here—the actual 5-star crash-test rating from Bharat NCAP has not yet been officially announced. Therefore, calling the Bayon currently “5-star rated” would not be accurate. Hyundai’s statement relates to platform engineering and safety targets, not to certified crash-test results.
Petrol Engine With MT and IVT Options
Regarding the powertrain, Hyundai has confirmed that the Indian-spec Bayon will come with a petrol engine. Transmission options will include a Manual Transmission (MT) and Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
Hyundai has not yet disclosed engine displacement, power, and torque figures in an official release. Reports suggest the possibility of using the Creta’s 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, but until Hyundai officially confirms, this should not be considered a final specification.
Launch in the Festive Season
Now that Hyundai Bayon bookings have opened, the next major update will be its official launch. Hyundai has confirmed that the SUV will arrive in the market during the festive season, while the exact launch date and delivery timeline will be announced later.
