The company has introduced this special edition in India through the Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU) route, and deliveries have also commenced simultaneously with the launch.
This special edition is targeted at buyers who want something different and exclusive from the regular Cooper Convertible. The mechanical package is familiar, but exterior and cosmetic updates make this version easily distinguishable from the standard model.

The Exclusive Exterior Finish is its biggest distinguishing feature

To further distinguish the Mini Cooper Convertible Stardust Edition, the company has introduced a new Sparkling Copper Grey exterior finish, accentuated by subtle Champagne-inspired detailing.
Vibrant Silver-finished ORVM caps and matching 18-inch JCW Rallye Spoke alloy wheels further enhance this special edition’s premium appeal.
The front profile features an updated grille design and signature LED headlamps, allowing buyers to choose from multiple light signatures. In the rear section, vertically positioned LED tail lamps continue Mini’s signature styling.
The Powered Soft Top is still the highlight of this Convertible
The biggest reason to buy a Convertible is its open-top driving experience, and Mini hasn’t compromised in this department.
The electrically operated fabric roof fully opens in 18 seconds at speeds up to 30 km/h, while closing takes 15 seconds. If the entire roof isn’t open, it can also be slid up to 40 cm to serve as a sunroof. This feature can be operated at any speed.
Boot space also varies depending on the roof position. Luggage capacity is 160 liters with the roof open, while it increases to 215 liters with the roof closed.
Premium Features in the Cabin

The interior layout is similar to the standard Cooper Convertible, with the dashboard’s main attraction being a 9.4-inch circular OLED touchscreen. It runs on the latest Mini Operating System 9 and modernizes the infotainment experience.
The feature list is also quite comprehensive. It includes premium features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Head-Up Display, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, Digital Key Plus, Comfort Access, electric sports seats, and Mini Experience Modes.
The cabin strikes a good balance of modern technology and classic Mini design, while keeping in mind daily usability and convenience.
The safety package also includes ADAS.
Mini has also equipped this special edition well in terms of safety. The car is equipped with Level 1 ADAS, ABS, Dynamic Stability Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and 3-point seat belts for all passengers.
A reverse parking camera and multiple airbags are also part of the safety package.

No changes have been made to the engine

Despite being a special edition, Mini has not made any mechanical updates to the powertrain. The Mini Cooper Convertible Stardust Edition is powered by the same 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that powers the standard Cooper Convertible.
This engine produces 204 hp and 300 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
According to the company, this convertible can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, while reaching a top speed of 240 km/h. Claimed fuel efficiency is 16.82 km/l, slightly better than the standard version.
Is the extra Rs. 3.90 lakh worth it?
The biggest difference between the standard Cooper Convertible and the Mini Cooper Convertible Stardust Edition is cosmetic updates and exclusivity. If you’re looking for performance or additional mechanical upgrades, this edition doesn’t offer anything new in that direction.
But for buyers who value limited production models, unique paint finishes and distinctive styling, the Stardust Edition can offer an exclusive ownership experience.

Auto India Daily Verdict
The Mini Cooper Convertible Stardust Edition has been launched for buyers who value not only performance but also exclusivity.
The engine and driving experience are similar to the standard Cooper Convertible, but the unique exterior finish, limited availability, and premium styling make it a collector-worthy model.
If you want to own a rare convertible and are comfortable paying an extra premium for cosmetic exclusivity, the Stardust Edition could be an interesting option compared to the standard model.
