Renault Twingo-Based Electric City Car

The Nissan Pixo is related to the Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric. The A-segment electric model is being developed and produced for Nissan under the Renault-Nissan partnership, while Nissan will use its own exterior design language. The Pixo is reportedly to be produced in Europe at Renault’s Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia.

Spy images also reveal strong similarities in the proportions of the Pixo and Twingo. However, Nissan has added its own design elements to the front and exterior styling, giving the car a visually distinct identity from the Twingo.

Exterior Design Gets Nissan-Specific Touches

Based on the spied prototype, the Pixo features more conventional squared-off headlights, a revised front bumper, and a different grille/intake design. Nissan-specific styling elements have been used to give the front-end a distinct identity from the Twingo.

Revised lighting and cleaner styling are also expected in the rear section, while the wheels and other exterior details could be updated to reflect Nissan’s design language.

Cabin Could Stay Simple and Tech-Focused

Nissan has not yet officially revealed the Pixo’s production-spec interior. However, because the car shares its technical base with the Twingo, reports suggest that its cabin could feature a digital instrument display and touchscreen infotainment system, along with a minimalist dashboard layout.

Final interior specifications, screen sizes, and equipment list will be confirmed after the September 23 reveal.

Battery and Range: What We Know So Far

It’s important to be a little careful here. Nissan has not yet announced the Pixo’s official battery capacity or range.

However, Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric, whose platform and powertrain architecture is closely related to the Pixo, gets a 27.5kWh LFP battery and 60kW (82hp) electric motor, with up to 263km WLTP range. Therefore, the possibility of getting similar hardware in Pixo is strong, but Nissan’s final figures should not be confirmed till the official reveal.

Expected Price and Launch

Nissan has not yet announced the official price of Pixo. As a reference, Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric starts at around €19,490 in Europe, while reports expect the Nissan to remain positioned as an affordable entry-level EV.

The Nissan Pixo will be unveiled on September 23, 2026, while market launch is expected later, with some reports pointing towards early 2027 deliveries.

Will Nissan Pixo Come to India?

Currently there is no official confirmation on the India launch of Nissan Pixo. Current information indicates that the car is being developed specifically for the European A-segment EV market.

Auto India Daily Verdict

Nissan Pixo could be an interesting addition to the company’s European EV portfolio. Compact dimensions, relatively affordable positioning and Renault Twingo-based electric architecture could make it appealing to entry-level EV buyers.

The most interesting part will be the official reveal on 23rd September, when Nissan Pixo’s final battery, range, charging capability, dimensions and pricing will be confirmed.
