Renault has officially unveiled the Renault Niagara lifestyle pickup as part of its global product strategy. This new pickup has been developed with the Latin American market in mind and combines SUV-like comfort, modern technology, and rugged pickup utility in one package.
According to Renault, the Niagara is the first model in the company’s future international product offensive.

The Niagara is developed on the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP) pickup architecture. Its engineering and production are based in Latin America, while assembly will take place at the Santa Isabel plant in Argentina. Renault plans to launch 14 new models outside Europe by 2030, and the Niagara is the first production model in this strategy.

Renault Niagara: Dimensions & Practicality
The Renault Niagara has an overall length of 4.94 meters, while the 4×2 version measures 4.91 meters. The pickup’s height is 1.72 meters, and its design is more lifestyle-oriented than traditional workhorse pickups. Renault has also focused heavily on the integration of the cabin and cargo bed.
The pickup’s cargo bed capacity is 938 liters, and the maximum payload is up to 654 kg. Its maximum towing capacity is 710 kg. The 4×4 version features an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system that can adjust torque distribution as needed.

1.3-Litre Turbo Engine With 4×2 and 4×4 Options
The Renault Niagara is offered with a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine. This engine will be available with either a petrol or flex-fuel setup, depending on the market. The 4×2 version produces 156 hp, while the 4×4 version outputs up to 160 hp. Both configurations have a peak torque of 270 Nm.
Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. The 4×4 version comes with an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system, which offers multiple driving modes for different terrain conditions.
Renault has also confirmed that a hybrid version of the Niagara will be introduced in the future. According to the company, the RGMP pickup platform has been developed to support a hybrid powertrain.
Rugged Exterior Design Inspired by SUV and Pickup Elements
In terms of design, the Renault Niagara’s front end is quite upright and muscular. The broad black grille features illuminated Renault lettering with a pixel-style finish in the center. Full-LED headlamps also feature a welcome lighting sequence, while LED fog lamps and an off-road-inspired skid plate in the lower bumper enhance its rugged character.
The side profile features pronounced wheel arches, a strong shoulder line, and 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels. Rear door handles are integrated into the C-pillar area, giving the side profile a relatively clean and SUV-like appearance.
In the rear section, Niagara branding is prominently placed on the tailgate, while Renault has also focused on the rear pillar design to keep the cabin and cargo bed visually connected.
Cabin Gets Large Screens and Google-Integrated Technology
In the interior, Renault has attempted to give the Niagara a premium C-segment SUV-style cabin rather than a conventional utility pickup. The dashboard features a 10.1-inch OpenR Link touchscreen along with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
The infotainment system features Google built-in functionality, including Google Maps and Google Gemini AI integration. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are also supported. Renault’s Multi-Sense system allows you to customize vehicle behavior to suit different driving requirements.
Additional storage solutions are provided in the cabin, including the center console and behind the rear seats. According to official Renault information, ambient lighting is also offered with multiple customizable options.

Level 2 ADAS and 360-Degree Camera
The Niagara features highly advanced equipment in the areas of safety and driver assistance. According to Renault, the pickup features a comprehensive package of Level 2 driver assistance technologies.
Features include systems such as adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition, and blind-spot warning. A 360-degree panoramic camera and parking assistance are also available.
Will the Renault Niagara come to India?
Currently, the Renault Niagara has not been officially confirmed for an India launch. Renault developed it specifically to the requirements of Latin American customers, with Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia identified as key markets. It will be introduced in other Latin American countries at a later stage.
Therefore, it would not be correct to call an India launch expected or confirmed yet. If Renault considers RGMP-based international products for India in the future, a Niagara-type pickup could be an interesting proposition, but the current official announcement does not confirm an India launch.
