The Tata Avinya X will feature a dual-motor AWD setup

The most interesting aspect of the Avinya X is its expected dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. In this configuration, one electric motor will power the front axle and the other the rear axle.

This is expected to give the SUV stronger performance along with improved traction, especially during high-speed driving and in varied road conditions. However, Tata has not yet officially revealed motor output, torque, or 0-100 km/h timing.

According to the latest report, the final battery pack and performance specifications of the Tata Avinya X may be revealed closer to launch.

Range of More than 500 km

The Tata Avinya X will not focus solely on performance. The SUV is being developed with a target of 500 km+ driving range.

If this range is achieved in the production version, the Avinya X could become an important product from Tata for long-distance premium EV buyers.

Currently, official information on battery capacity, exact certified range, and charging time is not available, so the 500km+ figure should be viewed as an expected target.

Will the Avinya X be based on the JLR EMA platform?

The Tata Avinya X is expected to use Jaguar Land Rover’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) technology. This platform supports structural battery integration and an 800V electrical architecture.

A major advantage of the 800V setup could be faster charging capability. The Avinya X is also expected to feature a flat-floor, skateboard-style architecture, which will help better utilize cabin space.

Tata has already showcased its next-generation EV architecture strategy for its Avinya family, but the exact platform details of the production-spec Avinya X will have to be confirmed at the time of final launch.

A Premium and Minimalist Cabin

The Avinya X’s cabin could be one of the SUV’s major highlights. A minimalist dashboard and technology-focused layout are expected in the concept-inspired production model.

According to the latest reports, the SUV could feature features like a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display, and an AR-HUD.

Additionally, features like lounge-style seats, a premium audio system, and headrest-integrated speakers are also expected. Level 2+ autonomous driving capability is also reported, but final ADAS specifications will only be clear after Tata’s official confirmation.

Will Become Tata’s Most Premium EV SUV

The Tata Avinya X could be positioned significantly above Tata Motors’ existing electric SUVs. Its focus will be on premium design, long-range capability, performance, and advanced technology.

Tata’s current EV lineup includes models like the Nexon EV, Curvv EV, Harrier EV, and the upcoming Safari EV. The Avanya X is expected to be positioned above these as a premium/luxury-oriented electric SUV.

CarLelo’s current model listing estimates the Avanya X’s expected price to start around ₹40 lakh, but the actual Tata Avinya X price has not yet been officially announced.

When will the Tata Avinya X launch?

According to the latest reports, the production version could largely retain the futuristic design of the Avinya X concept, but could get changes to the exterior and interior for practicality.

Auto India Daily Verdict

With the Tata Avinya X, Tata Motors is preparing to significantly expand its position in the premium EV segment. If the dual-motor AWD, 500km+ range, and 800V technology make it to production, this SUV will have a clearly distinct positioning from Tata’s current EV portfolio.

Most importantly, battery capacity, motor output, charging speed, exact range, and pricing are not yet confirmed. Therefore, these details should be treated as expected figures until the final launch.

When launched in 2027, the Avinya X could become a key product in Tata Motors’ premium electric strategy.
