JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the new MG Hector Tomahawk EV in India at a starting price of Rs 19.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
The electric SUV is also available through MG’s Battery-as-a-Service programme, under which the starting price comes down to Rs 13.99 lakh, excluding the battery rental.

The Hector Tomahawk EV is available in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations and becomes the first MG model in India based on the company’s new ADAPT architecture.
With a 69.2kWh battery, claimed 517km MIDC range and a long list of premium features, the new EV enters a segment that already includes models such as the Mahindra XEV 9S and Kia Carens Clavis EV.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV Price and Variants
The new electric SUV is available in three main trims, with the five-seat configuration restricted to the top-spec Essence variant.

MG is also offering a limited number of MG Hector Tomahawk EVs under its BaaS ownership programme. The entry price under this scheme is Rs 13.99 lakh, while the battery rental is charged at Rs 4.90 per kilometre.
The prices are introductory and applicable to limited units. Bookings have opened, while deliveries are scheduled to begin from September 2026.
69.2kWh Battery Offers 517km Range
The biggest highlight of the Hector Tomahawk EV is its battery and range combination. The SUV gets a 69.2kWh battery pack paired with a single front-mounted electric motor.
The motor produces around 201bhp and 310Nm, allowing the electric SUV to accelerate from 0-100kmph in a claimed 8.2 seconds. MG claims a maximum MIDC range of 517km on a single charge.
For charging, the Hector Tomahawk EV supports DC fast charging at up to 90kW. MG claims that the battery can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in around 35 minutes using a compatible DC fast charger. A 7.4kW AC charger takes approximately 12.5 hours for a 10-100 percent charge.
The SUV also supports V2L functionality, allowing its battery to power external electrical equipment. MG has additionally introduced V2H technology with the Tomahawk, allowing the vehicle to supply electricity to a compatible home.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV Gets a Big 15.6-Inch Screen
Inside, the Hector Tomahawk EV gets a modern dashboard dominated by a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. An 8.8-inch digital driver’s display is positioned behind the steering wheel.
The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while wireless phone charging and connected-car technology are also available. The SUV gets gesture controls for functions such as the air-conditioning and audio system.
Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 256-colour ambient lighting, a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, powered tailgate and a memory function for the driver’s seat.
MG has also added multiple cabin modes, including Nap, Camp, Energise, Pro Pet, Valet and Quiet modes. The SUV gets six airbags as standard, along with a 360-degree camera featuring transparent-chassis and wheel-view functions.
Level 2 ADAS and Premium Safety Features
Safety is another major focus area for the new electric SUV. The Hector Tomahawk EV gets Level 2 ADAS capability with 11 driver-assistance functions.
The system includes features such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and prevention, adaptive cruise control and high-beam assist.
This is complemented by electronic safety systems and a 360-degree camera, making the Tomahawk EV one of the more feature-loaded electric SUVs in its price bracket.

Five-Seat and Seven-Seat Configurations
Unlike several electric SUVs that are restricted to a single seating layout, the Hector Tomahawk EV gives buyers a choice between five and seven seats.
The five-seat version offers a generous 610-litre boot. In the seven-seat configuration, boot space stands at 192 litres with all three rows in use and increases to 528 litres when the third row is folded.
The SUV measures 4,745mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,770mm in height. It has a 2,810mm wheelbase and 230mm of ground clearance.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV Exterior Design
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV gets a large and upright SUV design with a closed-off front fascia. At the front, it features LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights and an illuminated MG logo.
The SUV rides on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and gets black cladding around the wheel arches and lower sections of the doors. Roof rails and an automatic powered tailgate further add to its SUV character.
At the rear, wraparound LED tail-lamps and a sculpted bumper complete the design.
Rivals of MG Hector Tomahawk EV
With its seven-seat configuration and Rs 19.49 lakh starting price, the Hector Tomahawk EV will primarily compete with the Mahindra XEV 9S and Kia Carens Clavis EV.
The five-seat version also enters territory occupied by the Tata Harrier EV and Mahindra XEV 9e. MG’s combination of a 517km claimed range, five and seven-seat layouts, extensive equipment and BaaS pricing gives the Tomahawk EV a different proposition in this growing segment.
With deliveries scheduled to begin in September, the MG Hector Tomahawk EV now has the opportunity to establish itself as one of India’s more practical premium electric SUVs.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV’s biggest strength is its overall package. Features like a 69.2kWh battery, a claimed MIDC range of 517km, a seven-seat option, a premium cabin, Level 2 ADAS, and V2L make it a strong proposition in the segment.
At a starting price of Rs. 19.49 lakh, its seven-seat configuration is particularly interesting for family buyers. The entry price of Rs. 13.99 lakh with the BaaS option also attracts attention, although battery rental costs must be factored into ownership calculations.
The real test of the MG Hector Tomahawk EV will now be its range, charging infrastructure, real-world efficiency, and long-term ownership costs. But considering the features, space and pricing, MG has positioned this electric SUV aggressively.
Verdict: If you want a spacious electric SUV that offers a long claimed range, seven-seat practicality and premium features, then the MG Hector Tomahawk EV is definitely worth shortlisting.
