For the 2027 model year, Kawasaki has replaced the previous Metallic Matte Dark Green finish with a new Ebony color option. Apart from the updated paint scheme, the motorcycle remains mechanically unchanged from the previous version.

2027 Kawasaki W230 Gets A New Retro Look
The W230 sits within Kawasaki’s W-Series of retro motorcycles, positioned between the entry-level W175 LTD and the larger W800. The model was introduced in 2024 and arrived in the U.S. as a 2025 model.
The 2027 Kawasaki W230 retains the same classic design language, featuring a round headlamp, traditional-looking fuel tank, exposed mechanical components and a simple, clean bodywork design. The new Ebony finish gives the motorcycle a more understated appearance compared with the outgoing green color.
The styling takes inspiration from classic motorcycles of the 1960s, while modern equipment such as fuel injection and dual-channel ABS makes the W230 more suitable for everyday riding.
233cc Engine With 6-Speed Gearbox
Power comes from a 233cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, SOHC, air-cooled engine. The engine produces 17 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 14 lb-ft of peak torque at 5,800 rpm.
A 6-speed return-shift transmission sends power to the rear wheel.
The relatively modest output is intentional, as the W230 is aimed at beginner riders and those who prefer a relaxed, lightweight motorcycle rather than outright performance.
Kawasaki W230 Hardware And Dimensions
The motorcycle uses a semi-double-cradle steel frame and gets a conventional suspension setup. Up front, there are 37mm telescopic forks, while the rear uses twin shocks with preload adjustment.
Its 29.3-inch seat height is one of the W230’s biggest advantages for newer riders. The relatively low seat should make it easier for riders to get their feet down when stopping or maneuvering the motorcycle at low speeds.
Braking duties are handled by a 265mm front disc with a two-piston caliper and a 220mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. Dual-channel ABS is also available.

2027 Kawasaki W230 Price And U.S. Availability
The 2027 Kawasaki W230 has been announced for the UK, where it carries a starting price of £4,654, equivalent to around $6,300.
Kawasaki USA has not yet confirmed whether the 2027 model will be offered in the United States. If it arrives, however, the pricing could remain close to the outgoing model.
For reference, the 2026 Kawasaki W230 is listed in the U.S. with a base MSRP of $5,699, while the $435 destination charge takes the listed total to $6,134 before applicable taxes, fees and other charges.
