Ram is giving its heavy-duty work trucks a darker and more aggressive appearance for the 2027 model year. The new 2027 Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition brings blacked-out exterior styling to the brand’s commercial-focused 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cab trucks.
Unlike performance-oriented packages that add mechanical upgrades, the Night Edition is primarily an appearance package.

It swaps much of the traditional brightwork for black exterior elements while retaining the Chassis Cab’s work-focused hardware underneath.
The package will be available on Big Horn and Laramie models, with both Regular Cab and Crew Cab configurations offered. Orders are expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2026.

2027 Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition: What’s New?
The biggest change is the exterior treatment.
On Big Horn models, the Night Edition adds black-painted wheels, black badging and gloss-black grille elements, including the grille nostrils. The package also brings Ram’s Sport Performance hood to give the work truck a more aggressive appearance.
Several other exterior parts are finished in body color, including the grille surround, front bumper and fender flares. Even the front and rear parking sensors and door handles receive a black finish, helping create a more consistent appearance.
The Laramie version follows a similar formula but starts with more body-color exterior equipment as standard before adding the Night Edition’s black components.
It gets black-painted wheels, black badging, gloss-black grille billets and nostrils, along with the Sport Performance hood.
So, while the two trims receive slightly different treatments, the overall goal is the same: make the Chassis Cab look considerably less like a traditional chrome-heavy commercial truck.
Available On Ram 3500, 4500 And 5500
The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition isn’t limited to one specific Chassis Cab model.
The package will be offered across the Ram 3500, Ram 4500 and Ram 5500 lineup. Buyers can also choose between Regular Cab and Crew Cab body configurations, giving businesses and fleet operators more flexibility when specifying their trucks.
That’s important because Chassis Cab trucks are often purchased for very specific jobs. Depending on the customer, the chassis can be fitted with dump bodies, utility equipment, service bodies and other commercial upfits.
Ram’s commercial truck program is specifically designed around this kind of customization, with multiple cab-to-axle configurations and factory provisions for upfit equipment.
No Mechanical Changes Under The Hood
Despite the more aggressive styling, the 2027 Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition doesn’t bring any major mechanical upgrades.
The 6.4-liter HEMI V8 remains available, producing 375 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
For buyers who need substantially more low-end pulling power, the available 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel inline-six continues to produce 360 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque.
The diesel is paired with a TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic transmission. The combination is aimed squarely at customers who use their trucks for serious towing and commercial applications.
That means the Night Edition is essentially a visual upgrade rather than a performance package. Customers aren’t paying extra for more horsepower or torque; they’re paying for a factory-finished appearance that would otherwise require aftermarket customization.

How Much Does The Night Edition Cost?
Ram has priced the Night Edition differently depending on the trim.
On Big Horn models equipped with the Level 1 or Level 2 Equipment Group, the package costs $2,195.
On Laramie models, the Night Edition costs $1,695.
Orders are scheduled to open during Q4 2026, with trucks expected to arrive later in the year. Ram’s current commercial information also lists the Night Edition as part of the 2027 Chassis Cab lineup.
