Tata Motors’ compact sedan, the Tigor, is about to receive a major makeover. The 2026 Tata Tigor facelift has been spotted testing in India, revealing the heavily camouflaged test car’s exterior proportions and overall silhouette.
Along with this test mule, a design patent for the Tata Tigor facelift has also surfaced, giving a fairly clear idea of the exterior changes to the upcoming sedan.

The new model is expected to feature Tiago-inspired styling, slimmer lighting elements, revised bumpers, and an updated rear design.

2026 Tata Tigor Facelift Design: Inspiration from the Tiago
The latest test car is currently in heavy camouflage, so production-spec detailing is not fully visible. However, patent images have already revealed the design direction of the upcoming Tigor.
In the front profile:
- Slimmer upper grille treatment
- Reprofiled LED headlamps
- Sharper nose design
- Redesigned front bumper
- Revised lower air intake
- Updated fog-lamp positioning
In the patent images, the front design of the Tigor facelift appears noticeably different from the current model, and the overall treatment appears to be inspired by the recently updated Tata Tiago.
Subtle Changes in the Side Profile
Tata will likely keep the side silhouette largely unchanged, but details could receive updates.
The patent design shows wheel-arch cladding and updated ORVMs. Blind-spot monitoring cameras with integrated indicators in the ORVMs are also expected.
A new alloy wheel design could also be part of the facelift.
Rear Design Gets a Connected Look
The rear section is also expected to receive a fresh treatment.
The connected-looking rear light bar in the patent-based design is one of the most noticeable changes. Updated tail-lamp treatment and a revised bumper could give the Tigor a more modern appearance than the current sedan.
However, due to the heavy camouflage on the test mule spotted on the road, it is not possible to confirm the exact production rear design.
2026 Tata Tigor Facelift Interior: Bigger Technology Upgrade
The cabin could potentially see bigger transformations compared to the exterior.
According to reports, the dashboard of the facelifted Tigor could take inspiration from the recently updated Tiago. Expected highlights include a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.
A new two-spoke steering wheel is also expected.

2026 Tata Tigor Facelift Expected Features
The 2026 Tata Tigor facelift is likely to receive the following features:
- 10.25-inch floating touchscreen
- Digital instrument cluster
- Wireless Android Auto
- Wireless Apple CarPlay
- Wireless smartphone charging
- Type-C charging ports
- 360-degree camera
- Auto-folding ORVMs
- Rear AC vents
Some of these features are based on reports and patent-linked expectations, so official confirmation from Tata will be required.
Safety Features Could Also Improve
The 2026 Tata Tigor Facelift could also receive an upgrade to its safety equipment. In addition to the 360-degree camera, the possibility of ORVM-mounted cameras for the blind-spot monitoring system has already been revealed.
It is not yet clear which variant will be available with blind-spot monitoring in the production version.
Engine Options: Existing 1.2-Liter Petrol Likely to Continue
Major changes to the mechanical package are not currently expected.
Reports indicate that the existing 1.2-liter naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine will continue in the 2026 Tata Tigor facelift. Transmission options are expected to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
CNG Version Will Remain Important
The CNG version of the Tigor is also expected to continue alongside the facelift. Given Tata’s current CNG strategy, the iCNG variant could remain an important part of the compact sedan lineup.
There is no official confirmation yet on whether the twin-cylinder CNG technology will continue or receive any technical changes.
Paddle Shifters: Not Yet Confirmed
There are reports of the possibility of paddle shifters being added to the AMT version, but this should be considered an expected feature for now. Tata has not yet officially confirmed whether the facelifted Tigor AMT will include paddle shifters.
Tigor EV Facelift Also in the Pipeline
A Tigor EV facelift is also expected alongside the petrol-CNG Tigor. Tata may also give this electric sedan an updated design language, featuring EV-specific elements along with cosmetic changes similar to the ICE Tigor.
The Tigor EV facelift is reported to retain the existing battery architecture, while also featuring higher-density battery technology and additional EV-specific features.
2026 Tata Tigor Facelift Launch Date
Tata Motors has not yet announced an exact launch date. Current industry tracking suggests the Tigor facelift will launch in late 2026. Autocar India also lists a late 2026 launch timeline.
Some automotive platforms are listing an expected date of October 2026, but this should not be considered an official launch date.
Expected 2026 Tata Tigor Facelift Price
Official pricing for the Tata Tigor facelift will be revealed at launch.
Autocar India currently lists an estimated price range of ₹6 lakh to ₹9 lakh.
It’s therefore safer to use the ₹6-9 lakh expected range for now, rather than presenting it as confirmed pricing.
2026 Tata Tigor Facelift Rivals
After launch, the updated Tigor’s primary competition will be from compact sedans like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura. Similarly priced hatchbacks and entry-level SUVs will also remain alternatives for buyers.
The Tigor’s advantages could be its CNG option, compact dimensions, sedan boot, and Tata’s improving technology package.

The 2026 Tata Tigor facelift could give Tata’s compact sedan a much-needed modern update. The latest test mule clearly indicates the development phase, while design patents already strongly indicate a Tiago-inspired exterior treatment.
The most interesting upgrade could be in the cabin. If features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, and wireless connectivity make it to the production model, the Tigor’s technology package will be significantly stronger than the current version.
On the mechanical side, continuing the proven 1.2-liter petrol + manual/AMT setup and CNG option would be a sensible move for Tata.
