BGauss C12 MaxR Electric Scooter Launched With 178 Km Range & 4.2 kW Power

The BGauss C12 MaxR has been officially launched in India. The new-generation electric scooter has been developed to combine performance, long range, practical storage, and premium design.

According to the company, the C12 MaxR offers a 178 km IDC-certified range, 4.2 kW peak power, and a top speed of 75+ km/h.

BGauss C12 MaxR Gets 178 Km IDC Range

The C12 MaxR is powered by a 3.8 kWh LFP battery pack that is IP67-rated. The battery is housed in an aluminum enclosure, designed for better heat dissipation and thermal management.

The company’s Smart Battery Management System utilizes 110 safety and protection features to monitor vital battery parameters.

With this setup, the C12 MaxR delivers an IDC-certified range of 178 km.

BGauss has used its HyperZen in-wheel hyperdrive motor platform with the battery. The motor produces 4.2 kW of peak power, and the scooter has a top speed of 75+ km/h.

No Belt or Chain Required

An interesting feature of the C12 MaxR’s HyperZen motor platform is its integrated architecture.

The motor, gear transmission, braking system, and motor control unit are integrated into a compact setup. The integrated gear transmission eliminates the need for conventional belts or chains.

The company states that this architecture helps reduce transmission losses and maintenance requirements, along with instant torque delivery.

The scooter also offers Eco, Ride, and Sport riding modes, along with Reverse Mode, Cruise Control, and Regenerative Braking.

The C12 MaxR has a claimed gradeability of 18±2°.

The C12 MaxR is built on the WSA platform

BGauss developed the C12 MaxR on its WSA platform. This is a flexible vehicle architecture designed to support different motor, battery, and wheel configurations.

The platform uses high-tensile micro-alloy steel, and the manufacturing process utilizes robotic processes.

According to the company, the WSA platform has been engineered with a vehicle life of up to 150,000 km in mind.

Storage Space for Two Helmets

The C12 MaxR isn’t just a range- and performance-focused scooter. BGauss has also focused heavily on daily usability.

Its under-seat trunk can accommodate two helmets. The scooter also features a pop-out umbrella holder, a lockable compartment for documents and wallets, wireless charging, and mobile and bottle storage.

There’s also dedicated space for cleaning cloths.

Space is also available for storing medium-sized luggage on the large floorboard.

5-Inch TFT Display and Connected Features

In terms of technology, the C12 MaxR features a 5-inch TFT display.

The display offers features like turn-by-turn navigation, call notifications, ride statistics, charging information, user profiles, document storage, and multiple display themes.

The scooter also features functions like Distance-to-Empty, FallSense, side-stand and main-stand motor cut-off, service reminders, Remember My Mode, and Guide My Home.

Through the Connected ecosystem, riders get access to features like Parental Lock, SecureLock, selectable speed modes, profile settings, firmware updates, vehicle health checks, SOS, and DigiLocker connectivity.

12-Inch Wheels and Adjustable Rear Suspension

Keeping Indian roads in mind, the C12 MaxR features 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tires.

Braking setup includes a 220 mm disc brake at the front and a CBS braking system at the rear. Suspension duties are handled by hydraulic telescopic suspension at the front and five-step adjustable Nitrox gas-emulsion suspension at the rear.

The scooter has a ground clearance of 160 mm, while the standard payload capacity is 150 kg.

The BGauss C12 MaxR will be offered in four color combinations in India:
