Bengaluru-based EV startup Simple Energy has officially launched its new family electric scooter, the Simple Wave, in India.
Positioned as a more practical and mass-market offering than the brand’s performance-focused One and One S, the new electric scooter comes with four variants, battery capacities ranging from 2.2kWh to 5kWh and a claimed IDC range of up to 243km.

The Simple Wave was previously spotted testing under the Arrive name and has now entered the market with a completely different design philosophy compared with the sharper-looking One series.
Prices start at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), while deliveries are scheduled to begin from September 25, 2026.

Simple Wave Gets Four Variants
One of the biggest highlights of the new Simple Wave is the choice of four variants. This allows Simple Energy to target buyers looking for different combinations of price, battery capacity and riding range.

The Wave+ is the range-topping version and gets the largest 5kWh battery pack. With a claimed IDC range of 243km, Simple is positioning it as one of the longest-range electric scooters in this segment.
The base version, meanwhile, gets a smaller 2.2kWh battery and a claimed 110km range, making it more focused on affordability and everyday urban commuting.
New Design And More Practical Package
Unlike the aggressive and sporty styling of the Simple One, the Wave has been designed with a more conventional family-scooter approach. It gets a sleeker silhouette and a flatter floorboard and seat setup, making it better suited to everyday usage.
The scooter gets a 920mm-long flat seat, which Simple claims is the longest scooter seat in India. This should make the Wave particularly interesting for buyers who prioritise seating comfort and practicality.
Another major talking point is its storage capacity. The scooter offers 70 litres of overall storage, with around 60 litres available under the seat. Additional storage space is provided through the front apron compartment and a quick-access pocket beside the rider’s seat. A similar pocket on the other side is available as an accessory.
This makes practicality one of the Simple Wave’s biggest selling points, especially when compared with performance-oriented scooters in the company’s own lineup.
Simple Wave Gets Updated 6.4kW Motor
The Simple Wave uses an updated version of the company’s electric powertrain. It gets a third-generation 6.4kW motor, while the overall motor size has reportedly been reduced by around 15 percent.
Simple has also made updates to the battery management system as part of the new platform. Despite being positioned below the One range, the Wave+ promises a claimed 243km IDC range thanks to its larger 5kWh battery.
For comparison, the Simple One uses a 5kWh battery and offers up to 265km of claimed range, while the One S uses a 3.7kWh battery with a claimed 190km range. Simple also has a One Ultra with a larger 6.5kWh battery and a claimed 400km range, although its price and delivery timeline have not yet been announced.

Up To 90kmph Top Speed
The Simple Wave gets different performance levels depending on the variant.
The base variants offer three riding modes — EcoX, Eco and Ride — while the higher variants additionally get a Sport mode. The entry-level version has a claimed top speed of 75kmph, while the range-topping version can reach up to 90kmph.
The Wave also gets a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster on the Wave+, while lower variants use a simpler display setup.
Rear Drum Brake And GripSense
To keep costs under control, Simple has made some changes to the hardware compared with the One range. The Wave uses a rear drum brake instead of the rear disc brake found on the One scooters.
However, Combined Braking System (CBS) is offered across all four variants.
Higher variants also get Simple’s GripSense rider-aid system, while the One range is equipped with traction control. This gives the more expensive Wave versions an additional electronic safety feature without pushing the entire range into a higher price bracket.
Simple Wave Price And Deliveries
The new Simple Wave has been launched at a starting price of Rs 1.10 lakh, ex-showroom Bengaluru. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from September 25, 2026.
With its pricing, practical design and long claimed range, the Simple Wave enters a highly competitive electric scooter market. It will go up against models from brands such as Ather, Bajaj, Hero Vida and TVS, with its maximum 243km claimed IDC range likely to be one of its strongest selling points.
Simple Energy is therefore taking a different approach with the Wave. Instead of focusing primarily on outright performance like the One series, the new scooter combines a large battery option with family-friendly ergonomics, substantial storage and multiple variants.
If the real-world range and ownership experience match the company’s claims, the Wave could become an important model for Simple as it attempts to reach a much wider audience.

The Simple Wave looks like a strong move for Simple Energy because it shifts the brand’s focus from performance to everyday practicality. Its biggest strengths are the up to 243km claimed IDC range, 5kWh battery, huge storage capacity and family-friendly flat seat. The four-variant lineup also gives buyers more flexibility based on their budget and range requirements.
The biggest question, however, will be real-world range, charging experience and long-term ownership reliability. Simple is entering a very competitive electric scooter market where established players already have strong sales and service networks.
At a starting price of Rs. 1.10 lakh, the Wave appears well-positioned on paper. If Simple can deliver the claimed range and build a dependable after-sales network, the Wave could become one of the company’s most important scooters yet.
Our Take: The Simple Wave is a promising family EV with an impressive range-and-practicality package, but its success will ultimately depend on real-world performance and ownership experience.
