Acosta set the fastest time of Friday with a 1:28.381, finishing ahead of Aldeguer and returning Trackhouse rider Ai Ogura. Marc Marquez was fourth, just 0.018 seconds ahead of Jorge Martin in fifth.
Francesco Bagnaia, meanwhile, faces a difficult route into Q2 after ending Friday in 18th position. The Ducati rider will have to go through Q1 alongside riders including Luca Marini, Johann Zarco and Diogo Moreira.

Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 10:50 AM local time, or 2:20 PM IST, with Q1 followed by Q2. The riders who make it through Q1 will join the directly qualified riders in the fight for pole position.
Pedro Acosta will start the session as the rider to watch after a perfect Friday, but the KTM rider will have plenty of competition from the Ducati and Aprilia machines. Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin are also separated by just 0.018 seconds after Friday’s Practice.
The MotoGP Sprint will follow later today at 3:00 PM local time / 6:30 PM IST.
3:01 PM IST — Austrian MotoGP Qualifying LIVE: Jorge Martin takes pole
Jorge Martin has secured pole position at the Red Bull Ring, finishing ahead of Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta. Marco Bezzecchi will start fourth, with Ai Ogura and Alex Marquez completing the second row.
Francesco Bagnaia will start seventh alongside Fabio Di Giannantonio and Fabio Quartararo, while Johann Zarco, Brad Binder and Fermin Aldeguer make up row four.

Francesco Bagnaia’s first lap of his second run has been cancelled for track limits. The lap was not fast enough to improve his position anyway.

Francesco Bagnaia pits at the end of his second fast lap and drops to seventh as the riders improve on lap two. Raul Fernandez moves to the top, with Diogo Moreira third, Johann Zarco fourth and Enea Bastianini fifth after the opening runs.

Q1 is now officially underway at the Red Bull Ring. The pit lane has opened and the 12 riders are out to fight for the two available places in Q2.

Q1 is just minutes away at the Red Bull Ring, with 12 riders set to fight for the two available places in Q2.
The Q1 field includes Johann Zarco, Toprak Razgatlioglu, Luca Marini, Diogo Moreira, Franco Morbidelli, Enea Bastianini, Pol Espargaro, Alex Rins, Francesco Bagnaia, Raul Fernandez, Takaaki Nakagami and Jack Miller.
Francesco Bagnaia will be one of the key riders to watch after ending FP2 in the top five, while the rest of the field will also be looking to secure a place in the pole-position shootout.
2:12 PM IST — Austrian MotoGP Qualifying LIVE: Marc Marquez tops FP2
Marc Marquez has finished FP2 at the top of the timing screens at the Red Bull Ring. The Ducati rider ended the session fastest, ahead of Jorge Martin and Fermin Aldeguer.
Pedro Acosta finished P4, while Francesco Bagnaia completed the top five. Marquez had earlier run off at Turn 1, but managed to get back out and finish the session at the top.
FP2 is now complete, with qualifying coming up next. Q1 is scheduled for 2:20 PM IST, followed by Q2 at around 2:45 PM IST.
2:06 PM IST — Austrian MotoGP Qualifying LIVE: Jorge Martin moves to the top in FP2
Jorge Martin has moved to the top of the timing screens in FP2 at the Red Bull Ring, becoming the first rider to break into the 1:29s during the session.
Francesco Bagnaia had briefly led the session after improving into the 1:30s, but Martin has now gone quicker as FP2 enters its closing stages.
Meanwhile, Ducati rider Nicolò Bulega says he will avoid unnecessary risks during the weekend as he prepares for the upcoming Red Bull Ring 850cc MotoGP test.
1:56 PM IST — Austrian MotoGP Qualifying LIVE: FP2 underway at the Red Bull Ring
MotoGP FP2 is now underway at the Red Bull Ring ahead of qualifying. The pit lane has opened and Marco Bezzecchi was among the first riders to head onto the track.
The track remains affected by overnight rain, with the surface still wet in places. Earlier Moto2 FP2 also took place on a wet-to-drying circuit, while riders struggled to find consistent performance on slick tyres.
Early lap times are still well away from Friday’s benchmark of 1:28.381, set by Pedro Acosta in Practice.
