Nissan has officially unveiled its new Nissan Pixo EV. It’s a compact all-electric city car specifically developed with European cities and daily urban driving in mind.
Nissan will position the Pixo below the Micra in its European EV portfolio, focusing on compact dimensions, a practical cabin, and affordable electric mobility.

Most interestingly, the Pixo isn’t just a small EV. Nissan has included features like a 27.5kWh LFP battery, up to 259km WLTP range, 50kW DC fast charging, and Google Gemini AI integration. According to the company, the Pixo is one of the first cars in Europe’s A-segment to offer Gemini integration.

The Nissan Pixo EV design is quite distinct
In terms of design, Nissan developed the Pixo with its existing EV design language. The car’s overall shape is compact, but the front end has a distinctive look. Pixel-inspired lighting elements, a sharp front lighting signature, and clean body surfaces make its identity distinct.
In the Pixo, Nissan has attempted to improve road presence despite its compact size. According to the company, the car’s design aims for a modern and youthful character, with pixel-inspired detailing in the lighting being a major styling highlight.
In terms of dimensions, the Nissan Pixo EV measures 3,796mm in length, 1,790mm in width, and 1,512mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,492mm. The car’s turning circle is only 9.9 meters, which can be quite useful on tight city roads and parking spaces.
27.5kWh Battery and 259Km Range
The Nissan Pixo EV is equipped with a 27.5kWh LFP battery pack. According to the company, this battery provides the car with a WLTP range of up to 259km.
The Nissan Pixo EV is also an important addition to the Nissan Europe lineup of models using LFP battery technology. Nissan has tuned the battery primarily for daily urban commuting, where efficiency and easy charging are more important than long-distance range.
The electric motor has a maximum output of 60kW, roughly 82hp. Power is sent to the front wheels. The car’s overall weight is around 1.28 tons, so the 82 hp output is primarily focused on city driving and efficiency rather than performance.
50 kW DC Fast Charging Standard
Charging is a strong point of the Nissan Pixo EV. Nissan has provided 50 kW DC fast charging as standard equipment. According to the company, the battery can be charged from 15% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes on a fast charger.
11 kW AC charging is also available for home and workplace charging. Nissan also mentions bidirectional AC charging capability, which could be useful for future energy-management applications.
Looking at this setup, the Pixo’s positioning is clear: it’s primarily for city users who want a compact EV for daily commutes and occasionally take longer urban trips.

First Use of Google Gemini AI in the Cabin
The Nissan Pixo EV most interesting technology highlight is its cabin. The car features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch central infotainment screen.
The infotainment system is integrated with Google-built-in services, including Google Gemini AI for navigation and connected functions. According to Nissan, Gemini will provide assistance with navigation, entertainment, and communication through natural voice interaction. This feature will be available in 16 languages at launch.
The car also features Face ID, which can recognize the driver and apply personalized settings. Owners can remotely manage charging and vehicle functions through the MyNISSAN app.
Small Car, But Practical Cabin
Despite its compact size, Nissan has focused on making the Pixo’s cabin practical. The car offers seating space for four adults, and the rear seats can be individually slid.
The advantage of this is that owners can adjust between rear passenger legroom and trunk space. Depending on the rear seat position, trunk capacity ranges from 272 to 356 liters, while luggage space can reach 1,219–1,221 liters with the rear seats folded.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features
Nissan hasn’t positioned the Pixo as just a basic city car. Driver-assistance features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Hands-Free Parking Assist will also be available in selected variants.
One Pedal driving technology is also provided, allowing the driver to manage acceleration, deceleration, and stopping via the accelerator pedal. This feature can be particularly useful in city traffic and frequent stop-and-go conditions.
What is the connection to the Renault Twingo?
There is an important aspect of the Pixo here. Nissan developed it with its own design and technology approach, but the technical development of the car is the result of a close partnership with Renault. The Pixo will be manufactured at Renault’s Novo Mesto, Slovenia plant.
According to reports, its technical basis is closely related to the Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric. While the Pixo and Twingo share similarities in dimensions and core EV hardware, Nissan has customized the exterior styling and technology experience to align with its brand identity.
Nissan Pixo EV Price and India Launch
Nissan has not yet announced the official price of the Nissan Pixo EV. The company stated that market-specific pricing, variants, and detailed specifications will be revealed closer to launch.
Deliveries to the European market are expected to begin in spring 2027. Nissan developed the Pixo specifically for European customers and European cities. There is no official confirmation from Nissan regarding an India launch yet.

The Nissan Pixo EV formula is simple, yet relevant to the current European EV market. Compact dimensions, 259km WLTP range, LFP battery and standard 50kW DC fast charging make it a practical package for daily city use.
On top of this, features like Google Gemini AI, Face ID, sliding rear seats and hands–free parking give the Nissan Pixo EV a slightly different character from a traditional small city car. Now the most important factor will be its final price. If Nissan launches it with genuinely affordable pricing, the Pixo could get strong competition in Europe’s growing small-EV segment.
