The 2026 Renault Duster Hybrid will feature a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, two electric motor units and a 1.4kWh battery pack. According to Renault’s official specifications, the system will use an 8-speed DHT automatic transmission, while the combined system output will be up to 160hp.

2026 Renault Duster Hybrid: 160hp Powertrain
The Duster Hybrid’s E-Tech setup combines a 1,789cc naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine with electric assistance. In this system, a 20hp motor acts as a generator, while a 49hp electric motor drives the wheels.
Combined output is 160hp and 172Nm, with energy stored in a 1.4kWh battery pack. Renault has specifically confirmed this powertrain for the India-spec Duster.
Renault India’s official website also lists the Duster’s Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 with a 1.8-liter petrol engine and a 1.4kWh battery. According to the company, the system also has 80 percent electric mode capability, which can help reduce fuel consumption, especially in city driving.
8-Speed DHT Gearbox in Duster Hybrid

The 1.0-liter engine comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.3-liter turbo is available with the option of a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed DCT automatic transmission.
The strong-hybrid powertrain will add a new electrified option to the Duster lineup on top of these two engines.
